NCAA09 PS3 BP Online Dynasty

Just got the game tonight and played one game online.... I got worked, lol, but I was able to force some interceptions and run the ball efficiently. We'll see how I can do in the league, I'm definitely pumped for the kickoff come the 20th!!

Also, I agree with BN27, '09 kicks '08's ass in terms of menu fluidity and gameplay online is MUCH better!! Not nearly as much lag, however, I still don't understand why you cannot challenge plays online!!! Bugs the hell out of me, Saine fumbled a kickoff, but was clearly down by contact... huge moment swing in my game earlier, which I'll go ahead and attribute the loss to me not being able to challenge the play... and not the 2 more touchdowns I gave up to my opponent....

This just in.....it's confirmed that I suck balls at this game.

I thought this was a known truth? But then again the real question is are you as bad as me?

Ok, time to get things back on track, a lil FYI. Any actual gameplay questions/comments (about NCAA09 in general) should be in the NCAA09 thread and not the league thread. Just to keep things more clean.

The one thing that might delay our Dynasty is not having a complete roster file. Supposedly there should be one sometime tomorrow for the PS3. Over the weekend I am going to try to test it out to see how good it is. And also to see if it is possible for me to tweak it any (to at least make sure the rosters for the 12 human controlled teams are right)

So while I wanted to send out invites this Sunday, it might be delayed by a day or two. So just giving people a headsup.

Also, with the patch coming up soon do we just say screw it and wait til the patch is done to make sure our Dynasty isn't affected by it? If we wait til the patch it might delay us 1-2 weeks.

So please speak up and chime in on this.

I was thinking along those lines, especially the Big 12 teams since in theory they could play 5 human games (2 non-conference) 2 in conference and then the conference championship game.

The Big East teams though only will have one in-conference game and no conference championship game. So they are slightly different.

Needless to say I am open for input on scheduling. I will try to sit down and try a few things out when I have some time at work.

Ok, was checking a few things with Dynasties last night. And here are my scheduling thoughts as I am still working on them. This is more of an FYI to make this process transparent and to let you know the method to the scheduling I am working on to make things happen. Of course if anything doesn't seem right, let me know. Otherwise I will keep doing what I am doing.

The Big 12 teams I am going to let them play only 1 non-conference human game the years they have to play each other. For example in 2008 Ok St, Colorado & Texas A&M all play each other. Oklahoma St & Texas A&M will play every year since they are in the same division. BUT, Colorado rotates them off the schedule at the same time. So when Colorado does not play Ok St & Texas A&M they will be required to play 2 human non-conference games.

For South Florida & Rutgers they will play each other every year. So really them playing 2 human non-conference games isn't that much. BUT to make scheduling work I might need one of these teams to only play 1 human non-conference game. I will of course rotate them to be fair, but just wanted to give a heads up.

This also applies to Ok St & Texas A&M in the years they don't play Colorado. If I need them to play 2 human non-conference games to make the schedule work, I will do that. But I will know more as I get closer to being done with them.

SMU & ECU are in the same conference but in different divisions. So they will only play each other every other year (it seems per my tests). So to make it easier SMU & ECU will both have to play the required 2 human non-conference games and won't be eligible to play only 1 non-conference game.

Take your time on the invites. I'll be out of town all weekend anyway, and I want to get some more time in to get used to the controls...a couple of days won't kill the dynasty.

I think that, assuming the rosters don't cause problems, we could start a dynasty as soon as the rosters come out, and wait for more info on the patch. We can always restart the dynasty if there are problems.

Somebody on IGN has uploaded a complete roster file with full last names and only the first initial. It's the best I've seen available so far.

I say we wait until the patch comes out. I just encountered the bug myself. I was putting in the names of all the Big Ten schools and Ohio State's opponents. I got the Big Ten done, but Mark Sanchez released the bug. Damn you, Mark Sanchez! Anyway, I'm deleting my roster file.

I say wait for the patch. Don't risk it.

FYI - My first good draft for schedules. Want to see what everyone thinks of them before I continue (ie figuring out home & away and more future years)

Ok, worked on the schedules a bit. Figured out the first 5 years. So I am posting them to see what people think. I will figure out home v away over the weekend. Also I did have to give the Big 12 players 2 non-conference games each in 2011 to help it along. And yes... I know there is more to be done.

Olaf's post changed my mind. It's probably not a bad idea to wait for the patch so we can run a smooth dynasty. We can just play each other online, or start our offline dynasties, or both, until we can get this thing started the right way. I know that I need a little more time to get used to just about everything with this version anyway. The recruiting tools look cool, but I'm not really sure what I'm doing just yet. I'll probably be through a couple of years with Kentucky in my offline before we get the online one going. Selfishly, I don't mind having the extra time before we start.

Basically my plan with rosters is to read up as much as possible. I will be looking for people that started online dynasties and to see how they are running with the rosters available. What Clarity mentioned in the general thread gives me hope. But that was with the XBOX360.

We won't really know til PS3 rosters are made (and EA is trying to tell these people to not even try til the patch comes out). But basically I am thinking along the lines that caution is the best course unless something changes.
