NCAA09 PS3 BP Online Dynasty

From those of you that played, is speed a critical component of this game? Can a QB drop back and throw bombs
which are uncoverable (is that a word?) again?

Speed isn't nearly as significant as spectacular catch or Catch in traffic when throwing the lobs. I can throw a lob just as well with an 85 speed WR as I can a 98 speed WR.

Also, for the rest of you, I mentioned this to Piney, but wanted to see what everyone else thought. When recreating my teams, there were some rating I did not touch, such as blocking ability for my DBs. The only people I changed EVERY rating were my potential position changes or when the computer had the player as some astronomical freak and 80s across the board. I often just bumped them down to the 40s.

THEWOOD;1499790; said:
I changed every single attribute to mirror what was in 09.

So have I and I think it should be this way. There are too many goofy numbers that the CPU puts in. For example there was a TE with 80's defensive ratings across the board.

THEWOOD;1499790; said:
I have only played one game in 10 and it was against Ohio State. I was not able to throw deep on them nor was I able to bounce outisde at all. I have a HB with 96 and a WR with 95 speed.

There seems to be a much stronger emphasis on the power game. I like the new balance.

The games I have played with fast players the only time I could lob it was if the player was left alone on an island and there was no safety behind him. (Probable better to ask the deep lob expert basebuck if he has had problems)

The lob is still there but it's completely different. It has nothing to do with blowing by the DB. It's all about positioning. Even if you do get a step with a fast WR, they will drop it 90% of the time if their CIT isn't at least mid 80's

Definitely agree that if you are creating your team, you need to go attribute for attribute.

Seems like everyone is going attribute by attribute. If smooth did this also, then it is only fair that everyone will have to do this.

I know this will add time, so I can delay the invites by a day or two to make sure everyone has time to do this. (also this will give me time to do a quick review of everyone's team builder team versus the 2009 version just to make sure.)

I will shoot for Monday for the invites (unless everyone gets their stuff done this weekend)

This I like hearing. It actually makes the other WR attributes important versus just speed & acceleration.

Also, what is everyone doing regarding their recruiting attributes? Regarding how the Elite/Excellent/Great translates to letter grades?

My initial thought...

Elite = A+
Excellent = A
Great = B+
Very Good = B
Good = C+
Fair = C
Sub Par = D+

Since you are going to check each team, do you need to know what players I left out and/or put at different positions due to roster restrictions?

Naw, I should be able to figure that out. As long as you didn't change names on me :biggrin:

I have actually found that I use my possesion guys far more than my speed guys. This is a huge departure from 09 for me

While I am thinking of it.

How do we want to work the scheduling of human games? Since everyone will be in a conference with another human team, if we do 4 human non-conference games that means it will just take 2 years to play everyone in the dynasty. The down side is no non-conference games to knock out other title contenders. Back to the up-side is with 10 guys we take care of 5 of the BCS conferences. And as long as we have humans in the Big East, they will both have 1 non-conference game to be used to take out the top team from the 6th conference we miss. The last downside is if a non-bcs team goes undefeated and ruins a potential all-human national title.

Or, do we want to tone down the amount of human games and have only 2 non-conference human games. The only reason I bring this up is almost everyone in this dynasty is in the super conference and will be playing everybody alot anyway. This way we can move a little bit faster and also can run up enough stats playing against the CPU for individual awards and to have good enough records to keep recruiting up.

I went attribute for attribute. It's a mind numbing process, though. If people haven't started already, they might just want to take a new team. Don't start now just because of the lack of 95 SPD guys in the game. The speed doesn't matter as much. I'm somewhat regretting importing UCLA into Iron's dynasty now. My defense sucks and my speed guys don't offer much. I think I'm going to get killed there.

That's sortof what I was hoping to hear, plus, it is much better playing with real players.

I like the idea of doing 3 OOCs. The Pac-10 only has 3 anyway, and that would leave every one else one shot at taking out a top team from the 6th BCS conference, Notre Dame, and the Utahs and Boise States of the world.

You can still pick an existing team after Whobe makes up his mind. That would definitely give you better rival options too.

I like the idea of 3 as well. That gives us the chance to work things out against the cpu early on. I've spent so much time in Teambuilder I've barely had time to play
