NCAA09 PS3 BP Online Dynasty

One thing I dig about Virginia is they have 4 rivals.

Anyone know if your recruiting rating goes up on "television exposure" as your team gains stars?
TV exposure goes up when you have more nationally and regionally televised games, i.e., the more times that you have Herbie and company calling your games the better...

TV expsosure went down everytime the dynasty went offline for the offseason. So there was really no way to improve TV exposure and talk your players into staying.

They say that they fixed the players leaving problem, but never acknowledged the going offline/TV exposure problem, so who knows if they fixed that too.

EDIT: BTW, it was tails.

Let's go with Fresno in PAC10......on a side note, does this mean I am going to have to build up all my recruiting attributes? or are you going to make them pretty even across the board?

on a side note, can I change my Mascot and Colors? (Horned Frogs!!!!!!!!!)

It's kind of hard to make a decision without knowing anything about the rivals in '10. If I can switch rivals I'm all for moving over to the SEC but I hate to give up my 3 rivals in the Big 12 without knowing

I understand the dilemna. I am really hoping that because we will be using the team builder feature to recreate these teams that we can update rivalries. Or as Jwin pointed out it might be an option as we switch conferences.

The good thing is we have time, and really the biggest issue has been resolved (a team from the Big 12 will be in the SEC) So I can plan the rest of the conference movements now.

That was one of those eventually talking points (recruiting attributes). The little I have used the team builder feature it seems like the recruiting attributes are moving to a grade level rating (A+, B-, C+ type of deal) My thinking is I will try to recapture the attributes where you left off where it makes sense. Like if you moved TCU to Stanford, it just would feel wrong making Stanford anything other than elite in Academics.

But yeah, I see nothing wrong with changing a mascot or colors if it makes sense.

Ganked a few rules from another Dynasty and I want to see how you guys feel about adding them to the 2010 Dynasty.

No running up the score
Having a QB with 11-12 TD passes or a RB with 800 yards in a game should just not be happening. Good sportsmanship is a major part of college football, even when playing the CPU.. we shouldn't be seeing multiple 70-80-90 pt scoring games.

And to clarify 4th down calls
Whenever you are past the 50 yard line with 1 yard or less to go, you are permitted to for it on 4th down.
If you are behind by two touchdowns or more in the second half, you can go for it whenever you like.
If you are the losing team in the 4th quarter, you can go for it whenever you like.

There will be NO restarts on your user vs. cpu games. If there is a restart, discuss it if there was an extenuating circumstance, but most likely any restart = automatic simulation of your game. The 2nd time.. = a simulation loss. There is no shame to losing to the CPU..we're all pretty good here and Piney uses difficult sliders targeted towards realistic challenge levels based on the caliber team the CPU is controlling? ie: CPU Ohio State will be a bitch? CPU Iowa St won?t?

Manually motioning your WR's before the snap should be kept to a realistic minimum. There are plenty of plays with green routes and defined motion in them that you can utilize.

Constant crossing routes and drag routes are not to be 80% of your passing gameplan, neither are deep LOB bombes... lets keep the passing game realistic and challenging for both offense and defense.

Conference Moves Part 2

Now that we know Texas A&M or Oklahoma St will move to the SEC. The other moves can be put into place.

BYU & TCU/Fresno St will be in the Pac10. So that means Boxcar keeps Virginia.

The next major question is for msj. I know when we did conference invites you prefered to go to the ACC versus the SEC. Well, since we are swapping conferences now, do you want to be in the SEC or ACC.

After msj decides, the rest should be elementary. Cuz then it is just pairing Ohio, Army, Virginia & USF into conferences to fill the gaps with Ohio & Army being the most flexible. If Iron and/or buchtel play they will just be limited to eastern teams to fill in the gaps of the conferences we need. If we have an odd number, then most likely scenario is leaving BN27 alone in the Big East.

To sum up, Next step is for msj to decide between the ACC & SEC. Once that is done the rest should be academic.

If possible, I'd like to be out of the Big 10. I'd rather be any other conference with the Big East and ACC making the most sense. The reason is that I'll be playing as Ohio State exclusively in my offline dynasty and I want some variety.

I dont agree. Sportsmanship is boring in video games. Heck, I dont have a problem with teams running up the score in real life and wish TOSU would do it more.

I don't agree. There have been several times where I thought I was in a position to start and finish a game but something came up in the middle. I like that flexibility. Plus, I dont think anyone in this league will be in danger of losing to the CPU

Disagree. Teams use shifts and motion all the time.

Crossing and drag routes are realistic in 3 and 4 wide sets. You will find very few 3 and 4 reciever sets that dont have a crossing route somewhere. I agree with the deep lob's. There has to be a line that shouldnt be crossed.

Yeah, most likely you will be out of the Big10 anyway. Cuz I just realized Iron mentioned about staying independent (which would work out nice if we have 11 guys)

So yeah, you most likely are heading to the Big East or the ACC. The ACC if msj stays in the SEC and the Big East if msj goes to the ACC. Cuz Ohio fits better into the SEC than Army does with Kentucky/Tennessee not far from southern Ohio. And if msj stays in the SEC, Ohio fits nicely with the Big East with Cincinati, West Virginia & Pitt being close to Athens.

Cool. The Big East makes the most sense geographically.

Hopefully the guessing where the play will be going (ie run up the middle) would slow that play down.

Also we won't be making many play type rules until we get an idea on how NCAA2010 plays (if any at all). Cuz you would hope with the better WR/DB interaction and the cpu adjusting to people that run the same play over and over again might be able to slow down on some of the obvious cheese type of plays that people run against the cpu.

Same thing for the Super Conference. Pretty much wide open play.
