Yeah, I would have been able to stop it if I had your personel. It will be interesting seeing him try that on me in our Arizona v Oregon game since he has a super fast WR. As Oregon I have a 94spd & 96 spd CB to keep pace. But then again my SMU team's fastest CB was 90/91. I had no chance but I had to overcompensate in my game against Basebuck and he was able to run all over me.

Oregon v Arizona... different story :biggrin:

Most of the rest of the game was press coverage with the corners, and deep coverage with at least one 6'4" 94 spd safety. My big problem in just about any game, is that I'm a button masher. Not the kind that just randomly hits buttons and hopes that they work, but the kind that ends up breaking controllers because I'm applying too much pressure to the button or joystick.

What I need to work on more than anything is lightening up on the pressure and working more on speed and timing. Playing against players that are getting better as the year goes on keeps me looking for ways to get better, as opposed to playing the cpu for endless years, and not really learning how to use the controller better.

You might be able to stop it but what do you expose to stop it. If it's man coverage I'll take that throw everytime but if you have a safety over the top that opens up other things. This WR is no Jordan either. He's not good enough in other areas yet to be a difference maker. It's more than just speed.

The only person I've played who shut down the vertical routes was fanatic. His safety was a stud

No, I only go with what works against people online. Shit, I'm going on my 4th kid, I barely have time to play most nights

Octodad?

I can't run the quarters D with my lame Virginia team and have not used it except in Practice mode but if you did run into a user online who knew how to use run it, the defense is a nearly impossible to play against if it's set up right. It's completely lame and needs banned.

Wasn't someone in our league very good at using it? Does anyone else remember?

My game with Basebuck went as followed......kickoff return for TD, then I scored, then Three (I think, two for sure that scored) long bombs to his 98 WR..........

and, I was down 28 - 7 with about 5 minutes to go in the first half.

He stayed away from Benn, but he torched my other corner (~ 91 spd). I kept a saftey over the top, but he out ran him too. I soon realized my crucial error and figured out how to stop it. Although he went back to it about 5-6 more times, it never worked.

I would gladly provide insight on what I did.....but then he would do the same for Bly, and that would hurt Bly's feelings.

Sadly, my Arizona team doesnt have many weapons. Really, only one weapon and only rated at 70 overall.

Are we openly talking about how to stop each other in the thread now? Bly will be tough for any team to stop.
