Welp obviously 10 days has put me severly out of practice... I got burnt by easy blitzes and lousy passes from my QB early on... made somewhat of comeback, but then failed to convert a risky gamble late in the game... then I guess box car decided he needed to run up the score... whatevs kinda lame in my opinion...

Lose the Vag

When it's 14-17 and nearly 6 minutes left and you go for it on a short 4th down (twice since I had to call a time out to get my punt team off the field) from your own 17, kinda annoying.

4. NO CHEESING - Don't do anything you wouldn't want done against you. Coaches are expected to play a realistic game of football. This includes 4th down plays, be realistic when you go for it on 4th down.

Interesting night last night eh? My only comment is IF what BoxCar said is true (That you went for it on 4th down from your own 17 with 6 minutes left and a one score game) I can see where running up the score would be an appropriate answer.

Anyway, we have advanced to Week 14.

What msj is angry about is that I scored a TD with 41 seconds left on a 1st and goal from about the 3-4 yard line. It was 27-14 and that made it 34-14. I don't know if I would consider that running up the score if the situation was reversed. I did tack on a field goal when she called a time out with one second left after a QB kneel.

Not to mention kicking a field goal with :04 seconds left... at that point and the :35 second point before the TD I had gotten it, you beat me, there was no need to run up the score.

Also, I only went for one fourth down conversion late in the game, that was the risky gamble I alluded to in my post above, not cheesing in my opinion, because it was an obvious move for me... my team needed to score.

I don't think I agree with this. If BoxCar found a way to exploit msj's defense (as it looks like he did towards the end of the game) than I would agree with msj's decision to go for it. He got into a shootout and couldn't risk punting it away.

The field goal sucks but I never have a problem with people running up the score in video games or real life. The whole object of football is to stop the other team and score yourself. These things have a way of working themselves out in the long run.

At that point I was up by a FG, he had intercepted me twice on D and I was moving the ball but in small increments. I scored after that because of such great field position.

If you were moving the ball in small increments consistantly than I would have went for it too. 6 minutes isnt very long if you are letting the play clock run down before snapping.

17-14 when he went for it on 4th down in his territory. And from an earlier comment msj said he was making a comeback. So it doesn't sound to me that Boxcar had a hot offense at the time. But that is a guess from the what has been posted so far.(who knows, maybe Box had been running down the whole field and then fumbling/int to not score) So I would punt about 90% of the time. The only thing we don't know is if this was a 4th and short? 4th and short (ie QB sneak time) is probable the 10% of the time I would go for it depending on situations of the game.

99.99% for me too. 0.01% I'm throwing it into the end zone. I don't have an opinion about the rest of that crap.
