I don't ever switch to my WR

I don't typically switch to my WR unless it's a dangerous jump ball. Nothing wrong with switching to them however, it's the same as switching players on defense.

I always switch to my wr, even if he is wide open. You rarely drop anything if you use the stick. You can also avoid many of those why did the QB throw it there INT's. I dont know how you could ever get deep if you let the cpu control your wr.

BN probable thinks of this as an 'exploit' but really... the 4-3 defense is broken unless your LBs are faster than your DBs. The 3-3-5, 4-2-5, nickel & dime defenses work best in this game.

I prefer the 4-4 against User's and dime against the CPU. Just depends on the strenght of your defense.

If I could change one thing about this game it would be the emphasis that is put on speed. Then again, that is pretty realistic. Speed kills in real life as well

One reason I am looking forward to '10 if what they are trying actually works (ie the WR/DB interaction they have been showing & the fact that RBs will run crappy routes to cut down on that exploit as well)

har har har. keep making fun of me....but the conversations over the last few days point to people openly admitting to using exploits.

and those people should be more quiet about it :paranoid:

Where was that 4-4 defense against me?

Agreed. For example, I have a mid 90's ranked corner that I do not start because a corner that is ranked in the 80's has better speed. That just seems crazy

I would consider them exploits and I use them as well. Well, those and the ability to throw deep on 3rd and long instead of punting.. It's rediculous how the AI cannot adjust to formations.
I guess I don't understand what the problem is with these tactics. It's an exploit of the defense, but not of the video game code, IMO. I guess I was going with 27's "I play it like I see it on TV" metric, and that's exactly what happens in real football. Motion and formation changes are all about creating matchup problems. Having bunched or unbalanced receivers is put in the playbook specifically for causing rubs against man-to-man or overloading a zone. If you're in man-to-man against an unbalanced formation, then of course I'm going to run where the defenders aren't. Someone cheats their safety over to the open side of the field, and makes an easy tackle one time, so I run at the strong side of the formation the next time. Now I'm running through traffic and still able to gain positive yards...or not. Also, putting a guy in motion in order to get his defender lost in the defensive backfield, , to move to the portion of the zone that I think the blitz is coming from, or to bring in an extra blocker on a running play is exactly what I see every single Saturday and Sunday.

I'm not exactly against changing my tactics. I've always prided myself on being able to make adjustments to other people's strategy. So changing my own isn't that big of a deal. I just want to understand what it is about these things that exploit the code. Because there are a lot of players in these dynasties that use a lot of motion and unbalanced sets against each other, and I've just recently heard that this was considered an issue.

What I'm talking about is the plays where you put twins on one side and everyone on the defense moves that way. It does happen in real life but contain responsibilities also change. Your DE would not be rushing the QB he would have immediate out side leverage as would your outside backer.

Until they can code yes/no for each position this is an exploit of the code IMO. For example, if the weak side LB and DE look out and see no contain beyond them they are going to cheat that way. A stunt would be called off, etc.

Again, I don't think this is cheesing or anything else. I think it's a video game that is programmed by people who do not know football well enough to make the "perfect" video game. I think doing this is exactly what makes video games fun. It's all about stategy that doesnt take a week to prepare for the next game.

Isn't that what line shifts and individual coverage audibles are for? Or are we strictly talking about playing cpu controlled defenses? I'm constantly making coverage and line changes when I play against certain players in these leagues.

I was just talking about CPU stuff. Against other players in this league all bets are off as they can make adjustments or control the critical players.

Does anyone really care what people do against the CPU?

When are we scheduled to advance?

We are 'scheduled' to advance Thursday night. (we are back to the Sunady/Thursday schedule) But I am hoping when I log on tonight to do my stuff we can advance tonight (Has anyone checked recently to see who still needs to do stuff?) I didn't log on last night so I have no clue who still needs to do what.

Whobe, msj, and buchtel still have their stuff left. Whobe is online and playing NCAA Fottball as I type this, so I assume he's getting his game in.

I don't know what the issue is with mine, but when I log on to Piney's dynasty, it still shows my record as 7-1, and I'm sure I've lost more games than that. It also shows that we were in week 9 or 10, I can't recall at this moment.
