id vote to just leave it how it is

speed is part of the game, and if you can recruit it I dont think it should be taken away from you
As a rep from ECU, I actually agree with this comment as well. I have fine speed at both RB and WR, and have been recruiting very well these past two years... its just defensive speed thats been killing me in big games, and honestly I think with another recruiting class on top of this seasons I should be good to start playing closer games with the top teams in this dynasty.

So I played Baylor last night in the Battle of the Brazos rivalry game and won 128-14.
Griffin, my Fr. RB, had 600+ yards on 20 carries and and my Heisman leading WR. had 300+ yards receiving on 6 catches.

I'm pretty sure that puts Griffin in striking range of Bleed's old Rutgers rushing title with 3 games remaining. He is currently a 93 speed so there is room to get faster.

I'm also approaching Collie territory with Jordan. Probably won't get the rec. td's record but I have a shot at the yards.

i just don't understand it

It's called cheating

But I was hunting for some sliders last night and I think I found an interesting set. I will try them out before I give them to everyone. But this guy 'says' the key to lowering the speed is RB Ability in the slider area. The only problem I am afraid of is if you don't have a good RB (or should I say fast RB) it might seem like you are running in quicksand. But he says he offsets this by RB Block being high so you have holes to run through, but your RB just wouldn't be fast enough (compared to the CPU defense) to break them into 30+ yard runs.

Since it looks like I can't edit speed ratings like we were hoping for, I am back in the slider chem lab. Unless we want to put in recruiting restrictions on speed players.

Michigan pissed me off so bad last night. Damn! I'm thoroughly convinced that a staff member from EA Sports is a Michigan alum. They intercepted me 5 times, all on plays that made me throw the ball to a spot that I didn't want the ball to go. They made me fumble numerous times, and called like 2 or 3 touchdowns back due to holding or clipping. My defense blew them out. I had like 7 or 8 picks.

I had a "difficult" time with scUM ealier this year as well.

Let's just bump to Heisman....It is the only way

Not the ONLY way... the varsity sliders I was trying out were very promising as I actually had some decent games at that level. This latest set is a varsity slider set supposedly that combats having a team full of speedsters, but we shall see. But yeah... Heisman might be in our near future.

Ehhh... I don't know if my 66 OVR rated team would do to well, but if this is what the league wants...

One reason if we do switch to Heisman there will be an open period for anyone that wants to switch teams (I know smooth might want to switch) And also why I am really trying out Varsity sliders, as seems like alot of people love them.

But my new goal (seems like this moves every week) is to be able to post sliders by Sunday night so people can try them out.

I keep going back and forth on this, and still don't know what's the best route. Obviously limiting speed to 92 or 93 isn't going to keep someone from exploiting a couple of plays/formations/tricks in order to get stupid numbers, because Basebuck's RB is at or just above the proposed limit anyway. Tweaking sliders is what we've been trying in both dynasties all along, so I wouldn't necessarily be against something like that. However, changing the RB ability scales everything down and really hurts the guys that don't have the elite speed more than it'll hurt me, fanatic, buchtel, or Basebuck. What I don't understand is. Why doesn't increasing defensive awareness for the CPU help with pursuit angles, play recognition, and the like?

As for moving to Heisman. I practice my games on Heisman with the current sliders, and even though Shelton doesn't run for 600 yards against Heisman he does run for a ridiculous average, and the only reason that I don't go for 600 yards is because I'm practicing. Actually trying to get better at my whole playbook. So I'm not pounding on stats, but trying to diversify my play selection for going against human opponents.

I basically just don't think that there is a fix out there. Some people are stat monsters and some people aren't. If you try too hard to control the stat monsters, then you end up pissing off a lot of other people in the process.

Damned if you do. Damned if you don't.

And there is the best summary of all this. :(

But if it makes people happier, my goal really isn't to stop the stat monsters. If that was truly my goal the easiest way is to put in one simple house rule. Once you are up by 28-35pts you have to sub your starters out

But I don't want to do that, I just want to make it tougher to get 600 yards rushing by halftime :wink2:
