NCAA09 PS3 Big Ten-Pac Ten Dynasty (Official Thread)

We have advanced to the preseason.

I think that I have a pretty good grasp on what the schedules are going to look like. I simmed to the preseason three times yesterday morning, and the conference schedules were the same each time I simmed. Based on that information, I spent the morning making up a rough draft of the schedules, but I don't have them with me. This is the gyst of what they'll look like:

Everyone in the Pac-10, except for Stanford, has six human opponents. Four conference opponents, and two Big Ten opponents. Stanford has five with one of those being a Big Ten team (Wisconsin, I think)

Purdue, Wisconsin, and MSU have five human opponents. Penn State and Illinois have four. Wisconsin actually has more human OOCs than it does human conference games. The Big Ten schedule is funny that way.

I don't rememer very many of the opponents, or where they're playing, except for my OOC is @ Oregon in week 2 or 3.

Every player will have 6 or 7 home games. Spacing those games so everyone had CPU opponents sometime in the middle of the season was next to impossible, but I think that the combination of conference schedules and OOC cpu games gave everyone two cpu opponent home games between weeks 4 and 12...can't remember for sure though.

Everyone with an even number of human opponents, has half of those games at home. If you have five, then you might have 2 at home, or 3 at home.

There are no week 15 cpu opponents this season. IIRC, the only week 15 game scheduled is Arizona St. vs. Wisconsin.

If all goes well. I'll have the schedule up on post #2 by tonight, and we will advance to week 1 Wednesday night/Thursday morning.

If anyone in the Pac-10 doesn't want to play all of their OOCs against human opponents, then PM me. That is a max of 7 human opponents. I'm going to work with the schedule tonight to get BN27 his 6th human opponent, and to make sure that all of the Big Ten teams actually have no less that 5 human opponents. I would actually rather play three or four of my OOCs against Pac-10 guys too (giving me 6 or 7 human opponents). So, it may take me a little longer to get this season moving. It all depends on how much time the woman let's me devote to the PS3 tonight.

I would like to have one home OOC game against the CPU. Mainly cuz I know my one home rival game against the CPU should be like Week 14 (OSU v Oregon). So I would like a home cpu game somewhere in the Week 4-10 area if possible. Give me whatever cpu team you would like that fits.

speaking of......who all will be buying '10.....I have a feeling all of us, and some more....there may be quite the waiting list!!!!!!

Anyway, Iron, how do you go about planning to run this shiz, I want answers....and I want them NOW!!!!

I am calling for a WAC dynasty!

Not hard to run it (ie being the commish) The only real hard part about being the commish (ie running a dynasty) is making sure it keeps moving and then setting up schedules. (And I am sure Iron & I would help anyone willing to set one up by giving advice) But setting up schedules depends on the type of league, if everyone is in the same conference (ie the WAC) all the human games are scheduled for you. Whereas a dynasty like mine where everyone is spread out and you have to schedule the human games as non-conference games... well, that is a pain in the ass to spread out the human games each year.

I don't have any answers about how I want to run this dynasty, let alone next year's.

I've got a couple of vastly different ideas, and may run both types next season, since the DrunkenClown is a completely different user on my PS3, and not an alternate name on my main account. We'll see though.

Most of it relies on Piney running a similar league to what he's doing now, and I haven't discussed any of that with him yet.

Not sure what I want to do next year. I still want to play with everyone here cuz it has been a blast. But I am torn on what Dynasty I want to be the commish of. I really hope EA makes it so you can commish more than 1 dyansty cuz that would help. What I want is a small dynasty (4-5 teams only) with guys that would play fast where we can move no slower than every other day. So it would kinda be an invite only type dynasty with good gamers of equal skill.

In other words... I want to feel like an elitist mod

I hope the same folks will be involved. We have moved at steady pace for about a year now. It's been fun. Any word on how many people are going to be allowed in next years Online Dynasty?

I like the format of the Dynasty's this year. We have a good group in both dynasty's and it's moved pretty quick. I hope the under 80 ranking in Piney's league sticks and I hope we stay with some conference type league in this one.

Yep, I agree with ya. I can easily see everyone back and then throw in more people wanting in on the fun. No word yet about the amount of teams in an online dynasty from EA. I can see them keeping it at 12 though. Which would suck as I see us with more than 12 people wanting in on dynasties. So it will be tough to say 'no' to people. But that opens the door for more dynasties if people are willing to commish them and give guys options. Cuz some people might only want to play in one, or only a few, but some guys might want to play in all of them.

Ya think April is too early to start a PS3 NCAA'10 signup thread?

EDIT - FYI - Last year the signup thread started in May

I am with Piney. Home game against OOC opponent that is a CPU.

I would like the same but its not the end of the world if you can't make it happen

The problem with the mid-season stuff is the quality of teams that are available. I could only get Piney his make up home game against Florida, and Arizona State his revenge game against Georgia, scheduled for the early weeks of the season. The teams that are available mid-season are less likely to help in recruiting than a conference game would be.

What I'll do is check what each of the mid-season schedules look like for individual players, and then check with those players to determine who might play an extra game. e.g. if Piney plays USC, Washington State, and Cal at home in the middle of the season(weeks 4-10 area), then he would be a candidate to pick up a seventh game.

Just as long as I get another shot at Fanatic... I really have to beat him before we switch to 2010

But really, I don't mind not playing an elite team as my cpu OOC game. Just let me know what the options are.

That and there's little doubt that you'll beat me this season too. I haven't played any "practice" games with this team yet, but by the end of last season I couldn't do anything, and I think that this season's team is less talented than last season.
