NCAA09 PS3 Big Ten-Pac Ten Dynasty (Official Thread)

Same here. I was a little excited based on my recruiting....but doing the position changes I noticed I'm still Stanford.
That had to be a real disappointment.

I realized that I'm still Sparty, and no matter how much talent I have. I will implode at some point during the season.

An interesting note on recruit ratings...

My new QB, who is a 77 OVR, named Dominique Bly (first White guy named Dominque)

92 spd, 90+ Agi & Acc............3 star recruit

Let me just say, he is going to take ALOT of PT from Juice. McGee (who is goin to be upper 80's OVR) won't even see the field. I wish there was trades in NCAA.......lol

Good problem to have.

:2004: it is going to suck playing Illinois

how the hell does a 3 star QB have those attributes?

We have advanced to cuts. We will advance again tomorrow at 10PM EST.
and I have a problem, I left my NCAA 09 game at my brothers house and I wont be able to get it back till monday, could you possibly take the "floater" and make my cuts for me so the computer doesnt cut players for me that I want to keep

of the top of the head here are the cuts I would like to make, id just like to get it down the the maximum players you can have, not any lower

QB- do not cut any of my 2 Freshman QBs Dustin Sherer or Curt Phillips, cut Scott Tolzien and I think there may had been another QB who isnt a freshman Phillips or Shere, if there is let them go, if you absolutley have to you can cut the lowest overall rated true freshman (I dont remember his name but his accuracy sucks)
HB- CUT Erik Smith, if extra cuts are needed cut John Clay
WR- AFTER Kyle Jefferson (sorted by overall rating) cut any WR that has under 90 speed as needed
TE- dont cut any
OL- if there are still cuts needed cut the lowest rated olinemen who arent freshmen
DE- no cuts
DT- I had a freshman who was 68 overall, cut him
MLB- no cuts, if extra cuts are needed cut the lowest rated
OLB- no cuts
DB- cut anyone who is under 80 overall and has under 90 speed as needed, except Essex (im pretty sure hes under 80) I dont want to cut him
S- same as DB
K/P- if I have 2 at any of these positions cut the lowest rated

Iron, is there a post in this thread with the sliders you use? I'm just curious, since I might be joining you guys come July...
First post of the thread. Although, I've actually switched us back to the default 50 across the voard, except for setting Interceptions to 0. I only did that because the goal is to play around half the games against human opponents.

Piney's sliders are similar to the ones that listed in post #1 of this thread.

I don't have any answers about how I want to run this dynasty, let alone next year's.

I've got a couple of vastly different ideas, and may run both types next season, since the DrunkenClown is a completely different user on my PS3, and not an alternate name on my main account. We'll see though.

Most of it relies on Piney running a similar league to what he's doing now, and I haven't discussed any of that with him yet.

No problem. That's why he's there.

Everyone needs to double check their cuts. I had a hell of a time getting down to 70 players. I only had 72 to begin with, and I'd cut two guys that I moved to DE, exit out, log back on, and they'd be back on the team. I tried this three times, but it simply will not allow me to cut them. I don't know if it's a "feature" of the game to not allow you to cut a guy after moving him to a different position or what, but everyone needs to make sure that they are down to the max of 70 players, before I advance tonight. That way you're sure that you don't lose someone that you want to keep.

I ended up cutting a RS sophomore DT with 71 STR, and a slow ass RS junior SS.

78 players.

Cuts:
James Stallons, QB, Sophomore(RS) - 70 OVR, Slow, weak, 84 THP, 82 THA, will never see the field.
Erik Smith, HB, - gone
Eriks Briedis, DT, Freshman(RS) - 69 OVR, slow, small, weak, dumb.
Brad Nortman, P, Freshman(RS) - 66 OVR, behind a sophomore(RS) that is an 81 OVR
Devin Smith, CB, Freshman(RS) - 71 OVR, 86 SPD
Aaron Henry, CB, Junior - 72 OVR, 87 SPD, dumb
Otis Merrill, CB, Sophomore(RS) - 71 OVR, 89 SPD, dumb
Richard Kirtley, WR, Senior(RS) - 77 OVR, 88 spd, lockerroom pariah.

You have 55 OVR OLB, that I could have cut, but you said no cuts for OLBs. You also had a FS that fit your description, but the three guys ahead of him on the depth chart are all seniors, so I left him there.

I hope the same folks will be involved. We have moved at steady pace for about a year now. It's been fun. Any word on how many people are going to be allowed in next years Online Dynasty?

I like the format of the Dynasty's this year. We have a good group in both dynasty's and it's moved pretty quick. I hope the under 80 ranking in Piney's league sticks and I hope we stay with some conference type league in this one.
