The Predictalator has Ohio State as the 5th most likely team to win the championship.

The site also says Ohio State is the second best team, but their likelihood of winning goes down since they're in Kansas's bracket. It also goes on to say that Dallas Lauderdale is one of the top 6 most important players in the Midwest Bracket.

I think Maryland is a much better team than its seed; they deserve IMO to be a 2-seed. Remember they won the ACC regular season.

OK, but even if one accepts that as true, it still wouldn't justify giving them better than even odds of beating the #1 overall seed in the tournament (unless you think KU is not as good as their ranking suggests).

How do you justify your claim that they deserve to be a #2 seed? They tied for the ACC title (which was a very weak conference this year), they didn't win it outright. Not only did they not win the ACC tournament, but they didn't even make it to the final. I see exactly two wins on their resume that I would say qualify as good: at FSU and home against Duke. Furthermore, they're only ranked #20 in both polls right now.

I just don't see how you can justify them being a #2 seed. IMO, they were lucky to get a #4 seed.

1. What was the final score in the ACC-B11 Challenge? B11 won 6-5. Wow, what a weak conference. :roll1: ACC wasn't weak; they were just less dominant than they've been in years past.

2. kenpom.com has the Terps as the tenth best team in the nation. That equates to a 2- or 3-seed. kenpom.com is the most-accurate predictor in the nation for college hoop.

There's something a little screwy with the predictalator, or at least a couple of significant typos. Each pod obviously has to have a 100% chance of producing 1 Sweet 16 participant, and if you look at the Midwest region, the first and second pods do. However the third pod, according to the predictalator, has a 90% likelihood of producing a Sweet 16 participant, and the fourth pod (OSU's) has a 110.1% likelihood. Obviously that's not possible and can't be statistically correct.

the section of the west region that contains xavier, minnesota, pittsburgh, and oakland is one big crap shoot. xavier, minnesota, and pitt are all underwhelming. minnesota had a better record against tournament teams (5-7) than their opponent xavier (2-7), but minnesota lost al nolen and received their spot by beating a hummel-less purdue and msu team that izzo punished (summers with less playing time due to poor defense and, of course, allen being held out altogether for unspecified reasons).
