Tells me the committee puts some stock in the conference tourneys. I still disagree with Duke > Syracuse, though.

even though ohio state lost to unc, their crapping the bed hurts our rpi. cal's lackluster season also didn't help. the bad loss to m*ch*gan was likely the worst (or among the few worst) by any of the possible one-seeds. the rpi doesn't surprise me, but the important thing is that the committee knows to place an asterisk next to our rpi ranking (re: turner's injury).

Earlier today the committee chair essentially said they don't put nearly as much emphasis on RPI as people expect. It's just one of many factors.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall in that room the last few days.

the odds are 50%. kansas state won't be in kansas' region. wvu, if the top 2-seed, likely gets duke. that leaves a probable georgetown and ohio state for kansas and kentucky. either team would be a very tough match-up for ohio state.

i'll be very happy if we end up playing any 1-seed, though.
