NCAA punishes USC - Reggie Bush, OJ Mayo, Dwayne Jarrett, Joe McKnight investigation

That was the problem that Michigan and Nebraska kept having with us. They get so stubborn - sticking to failing game plans that they can't adjust when the original plan gets stuffed. The last Rose Bowl with Michigan was even at the half, but SC went to the air and MU stayed on the ground and never responded. Has OSU truely changed their philosophy from last year? It will be fun to see how it all plays out.

Pete Carroll? I knew you were on Facebook, but BuckeyePlanet too!?

It's quite ridiculous getting into a pissing match about former players no matter when they played (for both sides here), but a player who played his last down at Ohio State thirty years ago?? give me a fucking break.

Gambling is WAY worse. How many points did he shave or games did he throw? No matter what happened with Bush, it didn't alter the outcomes of games.
Well, for one, it's never been proven or widely alleged that he "fixed" games he participated in. Mr. Bush has a trail of evidence against him. You'd be wise to steer away from this...

Please, I challenge you find me some shred of evidence that puts to light that Art shaved points or threw games.

The fact that Bush played while his amateur eligiblity was already compromised is enough in itself to take down the 2005 NC banner.

You're unreal. Nice revisionist expectations.

Hey I'm not defending Bush. If he did what is being claimed it's just incredible stupidity. For the money that these guys know that they have waiting for them, to bite at what amounts to chump change, for what, a few months of "higher living" is idiodic. The embarassment to the school is bad enough, but the one's I feel sorry for are the kids that may not be offered scholarships due to sanctions.

Some poor kid that dreams about going to his favorite school has to change plans and go with a scholarship elsewhere. If Bush is guilty he should have to meet with every kid that will lose a scholarship because of him, and give them the bad news personally. Maybe a little old fashioned shaming is called for. It's the future that he's affected, not the past.

This actually reminds me of a conversation some guy had with me at work. So we were talking about the hire of Pete Carroll and Jim Tressell, living in southern cali, and work in an office where everyone is either a tsun grad or sc fanboy, I get some funny conversations.

Did you know that since 2001 SC had been to 4 national title games and won 3? I didn't either, but apparently they won in 2002, 2003, and 2004, and lost in 2005. The only reason they didn't win the last two was because of the SEC bias.... Now, I don't pretend to know college football, as you guys all know, I am more of a badminton guy, but I do have this ohio state 2002 nc's banner hanging in my office that had 2002 in it and I pointed that out. Well, apparently, we didn't play Miami that year for the title, but Iowa played SC for the title, fuck me, damn, I need to get a new banner.

He's just one that comes to mind. I'm sure that there are others. I didn't start firing the salvos.

To be honest, 82, I couldn't care less about Bush. He's tangential to the part of your post that bothered me. Art has paid dearly for his poor judgment and choices. He has a problem. To intimate that he is lower than Reggie Bush when it comes to morality is a subjective consideration that has NO place in a Buckeye forum. Furthermore, there has never been one iota of interest into what Art may or may not have done ON THE FIELD with regard to his problem. I request that you don't attempt to draw any comparisions or contrasts between Art and Reggie.

Let's just be honest here 82, you wanted to use Troy Smith until you realized we'd be talking about $500 vs. $500,000 that can be proven in court. So the next best thing was a QB from the early 1970's.

Hot stuff.

OSU vs. USC is going to EPIC. No need to bring past transgressions into a game that will need no extra hype.
