Seems Louisiana hasn't changed much since I lived there in 2004.Really?
The man who shot Joe McKnight has been released from custody and no charges have been filed yet ... this according to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Dept.
We spoke with a rep who tells us 54-year-old Ronald Gasser -- a white male -- was questioned and released "sometime overnight" after officials believed they had no reason to hold him any longer.
The Sheriff's Dept. tells us ... Gasser "definitely" shot the ex-NFL running back -- but there are "questions about the circumstances surrounding what led up to it."

All I've really heard about is that Stand your Ground is "in play"Stand your ground situation? Haven't followed the story.
I heard he was standing over McKnight saying "I told you not to fuck with me" and shot him again. OF course how reliable that info is is hardly concrete.
I'm glad. I don't know if our country could handle the other right about nowaccording to official police report, that didn't happen.
all shots were fired from inside the vehicle

Not a ton of info being released so far

Not that I know much about stand your ground, but unless they were both in the same vehicle, wouldn't stand your ground be kinda hard to point to as your defense? Again, I've followed more of the story through these posts than anything... so I could be speaking out of my ass.
seems like it.
everything on local news here so far is conflicting.
witnesses say it happened outside and they were arguing.
police say only "don't believe the news, that's not the way it happened".
so who the hell knows what actually went down.
stuff like this is becoming all too common in Nola.
it just doesn't become public unless it's someone famous.
