This is all conjecture on my part - but it would seem to me that this is merely part of Geiger "most thorough investigation in the history of the NCAA".
Why not go back to where ESPN alleged the origin of JT's fall - at YSU - and use that as your starting point for your investigation?
If ESPN wants to use JT's behavior during his time at YSU as a precendent and reasonable cause for his alleged behavior at OSU - an NCAA investigation that declares him 'not guilty' damns ESPN further by using their logic against themselves.
