Last week, Texas State won 48-45 against Temple (2-1).
This week, the Bobcats travel to Troy to face the Troy Trojans (2-0).
In recruiting news, the following Texas State targets have announced their decisions:
- (****) RT Drew Davis has committed to Texas State
I had him as a -9 for 66 OVR, with only injury and jumping left to be scouted. I have two 3* gems rated quite a bit higher than him, and both have me #1, so I just left him on my big board, with an offer so you'd think I was going after him hard, and maybe you'd waste some extra time trying to fend me off.Piney;2200362; said:The beauty of 4&5* busts in this dynasty... they are still better than most of your roster. That's the case of the 4* RT I just got, he was a -8, but a 67 still isn't a bad player.
Yeah, you can find a gem within a bust at the ATH position. I'm fairly certain that one of my ATH recruits in Olafs Dynasty projects as a mediocre HB or linebacker, but he projects as a 3* gem at QB for me. I have no intention of even looking at QB prospects in these dynasties. ATH's with passing skills are everywhere, and fit my offense much better than damn near all of the QB prospects.Piney;2200362; said:Now regarding 5* gems... I think I might have found one. But not in the conventional +7 rating type, just some certain attributes surprised in the right way.
I am in on a 5* athlete that I am looking at QB, He had THP at 'A' and THA at 'C' and speed at 'C'. Well that translated after scouting to a 91 THP, 77 THA and speed at 89!!! Along with mid 80s Acceleration and Agility... to me that is a GEM QB prospect!!!
But he is going to be an uphill battle since some big schools are after him. But he will be worth it!
Heck, he might not even be the best QB prospect I am looking at, another athlete projected at 10 points less than the 5* athlete (5* is rated a 79 and the other athlete is a 69) but he has 89 speed, 81 THP and 84 THA and he is built like Tebow (6'5 245lbs)

Wasn't exactly what I had in mind.=============== #18 Upstate Patriots (5-0) ===============
