I've recruited a lot of safeties this year, but I wanted that guy too. He was only a 2* guy, and I'd like to say that I wasn't recruiting him very hard, but I can't. I was going after him pretty hard at the end. Your offer late in the season, when I hadn't offered him yet, was what did it for you. I think that I offered him a week too late, and then couldn't make up the lead that you took over me.darbypitcher22;2136982; said:I only have 6 schollies left and I need to close in a big way. On the other hand was happy to see last week that I took a SS recruit away from Port Chester.

The risk I run now is that you cant cut FR. So I could be potentially be harming myself this year. But it will be worth it to go from a 58 JR or SR to a 52 FR and hope I add some SPD or ACC in several spots.darbypitcher22;2136998; said:tryng to be optimistic and say that hey, maybe these guys will develop.
But you'll probably end up cutting them to pare your roster at some point. I end up cutting 3 and 4 star recruits sometimes during my own dynasties because I over recruit and guys just don't develop even when I give them game chances to do so

I still have California, Texas (both are great pipelines), and Nevada (crap), but I really worked on getting Louisiana, Ohio, and Alabama on board. I do think that I made enough progress in those states, and in Washington, that I'll be able to get them next season, but, dammit, I want them now.
Piney and Olaf may be able to confirm or deny this, but I don't think that's accurate. When I made that post in Olaf's dynasty, it looked like you couldn't cut freshman, but that was just EA fucking with us. I ended up way over-cutting my Georgia Tech roster because of that. The freshman that I cut originally, and the upperclassmen that I cut when it looked like I couldn't cut freshman were all cut, and I think I only had between 60 and 65 players on my team last season. This past off-season, I just made my cuts, and didn't look at that screen again until Olaf advanced. All of the cuts stuck this time, and many of them were freshman.fanaticbuckeye;2137002; said:The risk I run now is that you cant cut FR. So I could be potentially be harming myself this year. IronBuckI;2137021; said:The problem for us is that California is great, but the only other states near us that are top 20 states are Washington(18) and Arizona(20). Texas is worth going after, because it's #1...by alot, and because Proximity to home is a C+ rating. I may eventually go after Florida, but, for now, I've skipped over them in favor of states with C or higher Proximity, and that means Ohio and Louisiana.
