They changed quickness and agility a lot. Unless you are deanthony Thomas, it feels like you are running with a power back. Even he can't beat a defender horizontally each time.

This year players have a depleting stamina bar, which disappears rapidly when using the turbo. The turbo speed is about like the old regular speed. Even manziel struggles to bail and run around the outside of the defensive ends, even if they are engaged while he is in the middle of the pocket

The biggest change is agility. Changing directions means stopping and rebuilding your speed in the other direction. So a lb or RB running one direction can't cut on a dime and sprint the other way.

Playing the ball in the air seems to be better this year. You are more able to user catch on offense or defense. Conversely it is much touchier so you are gambling a bit. In the current version when the catch animation actually worked, you just had to be in the vicinity. Now you need to be in the right spot or you will run yourself out of position I still wish they would make the user catch animation work better when you are in the wrong spot or poorly time your jump. There is less of it but the user controlled player not even lifting his hands is still there.

They seem to finally be accounting for weight, strength and height. My initial play through seemed like speed is being downgraded and physicality and strength is more important

The option game is also far better. The mechanics on both sides are far better. The shovel option sets are particularly exciting but so is the more challenging defender being read. He will look like he is crashing down but then halt about the same time that you decide to keep it. It didn't feel cheesy, it felt like a more disciplined defender reading the ball and less of the 11 guys warping out of position from 13.

The sleeves and more stylish adidas gloves are more realistic but I hope they can be turned off individually like the current sleeves. They are tacky.

I am very surprised that they are not offering any promotions, especially given that the other major ea titles are headed for the new console.

If you are sure you will enjoy buying it, amazon gives every single preorder their best promotion. So anyone that ordered it months ago will get any promotion they run in the final week.

Of course make sure to use a bp referral link and help support the major overhaul coming to bp. It's going to be good and not in the fox Sports next sense :-)

zone defense still blows major balls

Yeah I would describe it as an upgrade but not a great one. It feels worth it for $40, questionable at $60.

It is easier to buy this with the uncertainty of whether I will even own the next system.

I really hope the old console and features lead to tepid sales and forced them to actually make big upgrades for the new system. I imagine they spent more resources on 2015. Maybe then we can finally have 85 players.

i feel I hear that every year

I went through the Operation Sports thread and was like, :highfive::lift::bow::groove:

Then I get to page 30-ish and the C glitch, All Verts-DB glitch, new car smell fading, etc shows up. Causing me to be all like, :pissed::sob::bonk::smash::shake::yow1::hatepc:

The good news is :scum4:

And that's less than 24hrs of the demo...

I am still reading through the thread. I messed with the trainer a bit last night. The option looks okay and I do like that reads are not as easy as last year.

The more hands on people get the more EA will shine through as stated earlier.

I forgot about the turbo running so I never used it. Needless to say, there were points when I thought, "Man, he should be going faster." Kickoff returns come to mind.

Anyway, there were things I really liked. Ohio State's playbook has some really nice new spread option runs. As for RB agility, I was fine with it, but I don't have a huge sample size of runs to look at. I scored a TD with Hyde that scored because of a juke that never would have worked in 13. It wasn't a big juke, but it was just enough to slip into the endzone on a goalline rush.

One thing I didn't like was that the CPU made a really poor decision late in the game. I called a Cover 2 w/ a spy, scUM ran comeback routes, and Roby was just camped in front of his dude. Gardner threw it to him anyway and Roby easily picked it off, but the ball never should have been thrown. Then again, [censored] scUM.

I looked to see if the all-verts were still a gimme vs. the CPU. I ran them three times in a row to close the first half and none of them were completed. I was happy to see that.

Don't see what is wrong with that... seems very realistic to me :wink2:

The kickoff on my one and only game so far seemed like I was stuck in slow-mo but blocking looked okay. Obviously, my sample size is small.

As for your TSUN making a bad play...it sounds pretty accurate to me. Pick by Roby is music to my ears so what is the problem?

I will test all-verts tonight to see if I can get it to work. TSUN TE worked me the one and only game I played so far but I was strictly calling Man Cover 2 to see if it was the go to D like the past two years. Doesn't look like it as of now. The Zone D was still bad just not as bad as last year.

My agility comments were limited to the left stick and changing directions, not the right stick jukes.

I do find it hilarious that they are advertising the stiff arm and truck stick as new features because there is finally some semblance of physics involved, albeit still animation driven

After watching 4 min of the video from Pastapadre (a demo game AI vs AI). I turned it off. The animations for tackling just look ugly and unrealistic

I one upped you. I watched until the 14:25 mark. VT was up 10 on Bammer. Bammer gets the ball with less than a minute before half. Bammer runs some bad plays to waste time. Then Bammer has to go deep to score with no TOs left. They throw a few down the left sideline to a guy covered. Incomplete. They come back and throw the same route to the same guy and he is 8 yards past coverage and the S is no where to be found. TD with 6 seconds left. That is where I hit stop on the video.

Ugh!
