NCAA Football 10 (PS3) BP Super Conference

BTW Piney, the need to go back a couple of times and make sure that the cpu didn't change home vs. away still exists. I had to go back and change an "at" to a "vs" or a "vs" to an "at" for every single player

Yeah, I'm anal rententive enough to double check that sort of thing out of habit. Heck, I ran 5-6 offline dynasties to practice making the online one. And to see how team builder affected rivalries depending on who I took out or not.

Just thought I'd post this... progression is basically broken. It doesn't matter who you recruit because everyone gains a ton of points and basically you end up with a ton of A and A+ teams.

A few quotes..

The game plays very good, but the progression "BUG" as i am calling it is KILLING dynasty mode completely for me.I mean if this is not a "BUG" and was a design choice...WTF?The issue is not only that freshman come in with STUPID high overall's, but the fact that EVERY SINGLE PLAYER regardless of potential progress the SAME (anywhere from 4-11 points). So, what this means is that RECRUITING MEANS SQUAT!!! Why go after a 5* when a 3* will end up just as good IF NOT BETTER? I mean how the hell does this make it through testing? OOPS....nevermind.....I already know the answer to that one.But on the brighter side, if you play up to and including year 3 of the dynasty, things are smooth and the gameplay is the best its been (sliders will make it better). But over the long haul for those who like to actually build a contender out of low-end programs...well, we are SOL! Dynasty mode for the most part is a completely BROKEN experience when you take into account that EVERY SINGLE team eventually ends up an A or A+.....Simmed to year 12 and that is pretty much how it ends up...Whats the friggin point.

Yea way too many A teams. I just went to year 6 and I believe a little more than half the teams where in the A range with another 20 in the B+. That means that over 80 teams are either in the A's or high B's which is nuts.

This game is quite good actually, its just this bug thats killing it for me. In the ps2 days, it wasnt that bad. I had a 5 star guy get suspended a few times and was hurt twice and ended up an 88 (from an 80). Now, that is realistic right there.

Dynasty is unplayable for me because of this issue. I simmed 5 complete seasons with Western Kentucky and 3 of my recievers went from the low 70's to major NFL prospects. Above all, my team was rated a B+ with 6 guys over 90. Blockbuster was kind enough to give me store credit.

Dont get me wrong, the gameplay is improved imo from last year. But im a dynasty person and after 5+ seasons, I just couldnt stand seeing Western Kentucky as a B+, Florida Atlantic an A-, and Utah State as a B+. Team identities are completely ruined. By year 5-6, Utah State will compete with powerhouses without a problem.

A dev was on OS and said that they were looking into it but couldn't figure out the problem.
Hopefully they come out with a patch for this. For now, we're going to go ahead with the dynasty and hope that any patch that comes out will apply to dynasties that are already running. If they don't figure it out, or if the patch doesn't apply to our dynasty, we may have to restart. We'll just have to play it by ear.

We have enough human players that this will just be a nuisance to me. We will ALL improve as will the CPU, so I won't pitch a fit. Especially with how much I'm digging the overall feel of the gameplay. My only wish for improvement would be to make the elite speed RB's a half step quicker. But, I'd rather it this way than 09 where it was overwhelming.

It looks like we're just waiting on the Commish, who's been logged on, but hasn't advanced. Iron, did these last two weeks off cause you to slip a little?
 No, I was playing games. I was waiting to hear if anyone had any gripes about the schedules. I'm advancing now.

Damn, USC VS. Florida in week 1. The scheduling gods are not smiling on me
Yeah, looks like you two were switched with Cincinnati and Rutgers, since they play each other in week 1 this year. That's the drawback of the the ACC, Big East, and Pac-10. They all start conference play right off the bat. At least the loser will have all season to try and climb back in the hunt for the NCG.

The only team that I paid any attention to who was replaced was mine. I had to replace either Louisville or Syracuse in order to have week 14 open for The Game. Even that probably rotates every year, and I'll have to play Michigan in week 4 or some shit. *shudder*

Oh well I guess, I will be out of town until Wednesday night basebuck, home every night there after...

I'll be on tonight around 10:00 CT

I'm a little concerned as I have only played 2 complete games since teambuilder took all my gaming time for the last week. Any suggestions on what offense to use with Florida?

I'd go with comfort. I'm using Air Force's playbook for Ohio State, because that's the one I used all of last year, and I'm very comfortable with the layout and the diversity. And, I want to be able to compete right away. I'll worry about what fits my teams as I learn how to play the game a lot better.

My issue with using what I did last year is that my schemes are completely different in this game. Last year my offense was 90% vertical and I went with South Carolina's. This year I've found that balance is absolutely critical against the CPU.

I use Tennessee's playbook with my aTm team and liked it but it doesnt have an option. The Florida Tebow's need an option set.

I'll probably just go with one of the standard playbooks until I figure out how to play with Florida.

I'd say go with Florida's playbook, but they took out the I twins formation, and the ace normal formation. It's all shotgun now...garbage.

Yeah, I've never been able to run out of the shotgun in any football game. Maybe an occasional draw but nothing consistent. There has to be some power formation with the lack of effectiveness of the QB sneak.

I played my game against North Texas. I was able to win, 55-24. Still horrible tackling in space. Whats up with penalties? They seem absurd this year, anyone else encounter this? I should mention I never changed gameplan or whatever it is called, from default.
