NCAA Football 10 (PS3) BP Super Conference

Alright, what the hell do I do with this guy?

#8 Athlete (4*)
6'0, 221lbs.
Awesome blocking ratings (93 IBL, 82-87 on rest), but look at his height/weight! Not only that, but he has a 99 for hit power. I recruited him because of his A+ hitting grade, but man, the rest of his defensive raking suck.

I think I'm just going to have a 6'0, 221 pound center. Fuck it.
If you put him at C won't he gain some weight? I've noticed some ATH, CB, and LB moves I have made to 'bigger' positions have done so...

Have they? By and large, my athletes are usually receivers or corners. One of my QB's on my Army team was an athlete, but up until now he was the only exception.

I ended up putting him at center. He's an 83 there. His strength is low, only a 74, but hopefully it improves. I hope his weight goes up, too. It's just weird. I wanted to put him at SS, but his rating there was a 64. That 99 hit power is going to waste.

My MLB last year came in as an 89. He started from day one. I'm redshirting him this upcoming year because the guy below him got some crazy training points and jumped him.

On the flip side, Russell Shepard hasn't progressed worth a damn. This is his redshirt junior season and he's an OVR 90 with shit for accuracy. I think he was an 83 or an 84 as a true frosh.

any QBs I recruit, no matter how highly rated, seem to suck, I have a good shot at 3 of the top 5 QBs, hopefully I get 2 of them and 1 of them turns out to be good since none of the QBs on my roster after Gilbert have developed for shit

We'll tweak as much and as often as you guys want.

And we are advancing to the regular season as I type this...

I just finished my first game. There's definitely a different feel. The biggest adjustments I feel need to be made are Break Tackle and Throwing Power sliders (if they exist). Ball carriers on both sides were shedding tacklers left and right, and this includes quarterbacks. Also, the ball freaking zips through the air. John Elway doesn't have shit on these kids. You might want to tone those down a bit. Actually, you might want to tone it down a lot.

I played aTm. Here are a few of their stats:

RB Christine Michael - 17 attempts, 135 yards, 10 broken tackles
QB Tommy Dorman - 3 attempts, 3 yards, 8 broken tackles (You should have seen him. I'd show you a run of his where he dodged my DE, shrugged off my DT, stiff-armed my LB and was finally taken down by my SS, but there wasn't a replay available.)

The CPU's defense played faster which was fun. They were flagged for three or four personal foul calls for late hits on my QB. You might want to tone that down a little.

There weren't any pass interference calls on either side, so bumping that up to 100 didn't seem to do any good.

There were a couple more false start/offsides calls on both sides which is more realistic than it was.

On another note, I feel the need to bitch. I have four rivals yet none of them are on my schedule this season. What's up with that?

I can move down RB and QB ability; will start with a 10 point reduction.

Good.

Is the game more, less, or the same in terms of it being enjoyable?

You have every right to. To be honest, I didn't think about rivals. I was on a conference call and was entirely focused on ranked opponents and rivals completely slipped my mind. If it is any consolation, I will not use visits if I happen to have a home rivalry game. Honestly don't remember if I do or don't. I know I scheduled Cal for someone. But, I apologize about that.

Are these sliders going to have me chucking my controller across the room due to horribly outrageous amounts of broken tackles by the computer? Like in the one dynasty on last years game

I think raising the tackling slider is the way to go. The running was fine, tackles were just being shed left and right. The receiver would catch it, the DB would slide off him, and off the receiver went. I missed a couple sacks because my DE couldn't wrap up the QB.

More, but controllers will be thrown by many a user unless the tackling slider is raised.

No biggie. I was just hoping it wasn't deliberate. Hell, recruiting isn't that important anymore, anyway. No one I recruit from now on will ever see the field before NCAA 11 is released.

Changes:
QB Acc - (-10) - I don't know if this will impact the cannon arm or not?
Tackling - (+15) - match RB ability. We'll see how that changes it.

edit: meh. Played a half vs. Tenn...
RB's were 26 for 157 with 12 broken tackles, not counting at least one broken tackle per reception
QB was 15-17 3 TD and 0 INT with several opportunities that the defense didn't break on
UT had 6 first half sacks as well, I had time for one read and that was it.

My guess is the further tweaks will include dropping pass rush to 45, but keeping pass block steady (I believe raising it increases the magnetic blocking, I think Merih posted that?), decreasing RB ability to 30, and upping the pass coverage to 40. I will play a game or two and continue to tweak today and tomorrow to see.
