How does everyone feel about the 'Kill Clock' functionality? Should there be some kind of ruling when it can be used?
Chew clock can be used the whole game as far as I'm concerned. I think that I'm going to bump us up to 7 minute quarters anyway though. The game really seems to fly by, w/out chewing the clock, if you have a run based offense.

I don't want to make the game any easier. The guys on OS that have been working their balls off to come up with these claim that they made the game more realistic, and caused players to act the way they would based on how they were rated.

I played OSU vs. Navy, so that could have had alot to do with it. Could you make the game close by not going to gimme plays, yes, but there is no way I could hold off those. The game has done an exceptional job on eliminating the bounce out and out run everyone to the sideline, but I felt the new sliders made it a tad easier (but then again I am pretty much the man at this game).

As for the rest of your high-horse rant. I agree. :tongue2: .

My horse is TALL!

On a serious note, I will happily play with any sliders you choose, I am just having fun.

I played a half as Ohio State against Penn State. The game was @ Ohio State. Penn State jumped on me pretty early with an 80 yard pass to the flat on the second play from scrimmage. I threw a pick on my first play, and Penn State scored another TD on 3rd and short. I eventually took a 31-17 lead at halftime. 300+ total yards, and 160 of it was rushing yards on 20 carries. At least 4 of those carries were sacks that lost between 5-10 yards.

Running is too easy. There were too many sacks for both teams (4 or more). The cpu QB threw too many panic passes to the RB in the flat. Penn State did go deep on me several times, but so did Auburn in Piney's dynasty, so I don't think that was a result of these sliders.

There is another set of varsity sliders on OS that I may try before giving up on varsity altogether. Regardless, full scale slider changes won't take place until the offseason, because week 4 is the last week that there are no human vs. human games. I may make some minor tweaks to the AA sliders. I agree, with fanatic, that RBs seem to be too slow with their first step this year. I am going to play around with raising user RB ability to 55 and lowering user run blocking to 45 or 40. Since run block affects kick returns too, that is a slider that is definitely going to be lowered sooner rather than later.

We have advanced to week 4.

Slider tweaks.

User tweaks only. No CPU sliders were adjusted
QB accuracy 50 to 45
RB ability 50 to 55
Run Blocking 50 to 40
Kickoff Power 50 to 65
FG power 50 to 40

Forgot to change it to 7 minute quarters until after I had already started advancing.

Screw the sportsmanship garbage. Start of the third quarter and I'm beating Fresno St 35-0, its 3rd and 7, run a play action for 8 yards and got the first down, also got a -50 Unsportsman garbage. I get the point against users, but against the computer, I spent the entire second half running and running and running. Very boring.

The increased RB ability really made no difference in my opinion, granted its only 5.

I must not be signed up for the season showdown stuff, because I've never gotten any scores for sportsmanship. Positive or negative.

I only made small tweaks so I wouldn't screw things up too bad. What I'll probably do next week is raise the cpu kickoff power too. I should have done that this week, along with moving to 7 minute quarters.

Kick returns are too easy, and that's my main concern right now. There's only been two kick returns in this OD, and I haven't had any with Kentucky, but I've had a ton of them offline, and have only been one guy and a wide open field away from several in both of these dynasties. As it is, everyone is averaging 23-24 yards per return and starting out on the 35 or 40 for nearly every posession.

I cared about Sportsmanship for about a week. Then I watched the little video EA puts out on Season Showdown and it said that Florida and Ohio State were the two worst sportsmanship schools while teams like Northern Illinois was among the best.

So screw it. I'm playing how I want to play (against the CPU).
