I rented NCAA11 to see if it was worth the hype before I dished out the dough to add another permanently flawed EA sports game to my cabinet and after further review, I'm going to wait for NCAA12.

Don't get me wrong, 11 is a HUGE step in the right direction from EA's usual crap...but just like any major software upgrade, I'm going to wait for the second installment before taking the plunge.

Yea, I hear ya, I haven't played an NCAA game regularly since the 2008 version. I bought 2009, but traded it in after 3 weeks. So this version seems fresh and 10 times better than 2009, but it still has things that need fixed.

Hopefully, they keep up on the patches and make this game more playable, but overall I'd give it an 8/10.

i think my favorite part about heisman is watching the DBs or LBs run my players' routes better than my WRs and RBs

I tried a few Heisman games with the demo. I then played in one in my offline dynasty just to get the trophy. It was Ohio State vs. UAB. UAB had five sacks in the first half. I was enjoying this so much I started to call play action passes just to see how fast their line could get to me. It wasn't pretty, but it caused some chuckles.

Anyone run a base 4-2-5?
Have you had good results?

I'm thinking about switching to it, since you can come from pretty much any angle/disguises very well.
My hesitation would be getting Safety with block shedding ability equal to a LB. With the improvement of the blocking schemes this year, that would be crucial, unless you're relying on blitzes heavily.

Yeah. I'm confident in the line play, but the LB's and that S is what I'm worried about. I just ran a game against Boise with UVA, and I absolutely dominated them with the 4-2-5...the result was 10x's better than me running the 4-3/4-4 against them with UVA.

1) It is weaker against the run

2) one safety leaves you vulnerable to big plays, particularly outside runs. That outside safety is often your last chance to stop a big run, very weak backside help.

3) The box safeties and lbs often get caught in the wash (colliding with other blocked teammates) when pursuing outside the numbers.

4) They do not always line up properly. A safety will often stand inches from the ball pre snap when he is supposed to cover the slot outside, 10 yards from him largely sideways.

5) your human opponent can tell whether you are in man or zone earlier in the play.

6) computers are not confused by the complex and diverse zone schemes. That value against humans is minor against the cpu. The blitzes matter

7) what you learned last year in the 4-2-5 is largely worthless now. Before the terrible OL ai blocking was so bad that you could send rocket blitzes from multiple plays which always exploded to the qb, often before he reached home.

Personally, I am still experimenting with the 3-3-5 after mild but not strong success with the 4-2-5. These comments are based more on my usage with texas, since my houston d is too bad to properly run any formation.

Just up 14-0 on a guy late 2nd quarter. He goes for it on 4th and 10 from his own 18yrd line, catches it but 1yrd short. So I get the ball back. Nope he quits. He gets a L and DNF, and i get no win.

I REFUSE TO PLAY ONLINE RANKED GAMES UNTIL IT'S FIXED.

Here you go EA, if you are worried about someone boosting wins...here's your solution, Only let the same users play twice or three times in a single day, then they are cut off from playing each other and make them play other users.

Until then, EA ruined my online football fix

Every time someone has quit on me I've gotten the win for it. Are you on Xbox or PS3?

sometimes it gives me the win and sometimes it doesnt

I had a dude quit like 15 seconds before halftime on me yesterday and it did not give me a win

but another guy quits at halftime and I get the win
