Cracks me up seeing Best Buy and the little video gaming stores having people reserve it, etc. ahead of time. Stopped at Wal Mart on the way to work this morning, walked in and bought it with no lines or anything. They have a pile of them just waiting to be purchased.

Now *cough*cough* I feel a little *cough* feverish. I probably should *cough* go home early from work so I can *cough* rest. :wink:

Got to work at 6am so I can leave around lunch. Off to Best Buy/WalMart/Target to buy one and then I am in my basement until tomorrow morning when I get this awful cold and have to call in sick to work :sneaky:

Also have to get a new ethernet cord to hook up NCAA 2006 online so I can kick BN27's ass! :biggrin:

Left work early to get mine at the BX here. I'm gonna play it till my soccer game tonight and then I'll resume as soon as I get back. I think I am catching what everyone else is catching and may have to call in tomorrow. Somone should alert the CDC. This bug is going around like wildfire.

I have mine today, I guess they started selling them at the Wurzburg PX this weekend and have LOTS of copies, i was shocked, ive got to call my dad and tell him not to buy it for me tommorow, normally shit comes out super slow here.

Hey, I spent a couple years in Germany....1992-1994....I was stationed in Kitzingen.....spent a lot of time at Wurzburg......drink all the beer you can soldier. :biggrin:

Back to NCAA 2006....I am seating here at work counting down the hours until I can pick my reserved copy up......I don't think I feel so good...might have to go home.....:wink2:

So, now that it's out and all you jerks are taking off work early to play, and some of yo uhave had it for a week now, the million dollar question is "How is it?!" Is it any better than 2005?

I hadn't planned on buying it, I haven't touched my XBox in over a month now........however, I do feel a touch of this mysterious fever that seems to be going around........

Went to the Midnight Opening at Gamestop on Morse Road last night. Free Walmart/K-Mart brand soda. One of the employees was wearing a Michigan jersey, bastard. A few guys were talking up Vince Young and Texas.

Brandon Smith and Nick Patterson were there, and had some playful bantering with said Longhorn fans. Patterson is a pretty lanky dude, and Smith definitely has a rotund build, compared to his fellow freshmen LBs. Couple more months in the weight room and they'll be ready for action.

I like it much better than 2005. It's easier to complete passes, since the drops have been reduced (XBox version.) They added some excellent animations. The in-season recruiting seems pretty neat so far. The gamplay is much quicker. The playmaker feature is pretty well done. The running game has been improved, and the CPU will continue to pound the ball when it's controlling a team like Minnesota.

They changed some of the buttons though, so you'll definitely want to practice a few games.

You can change the buttons back to the 2005 layout, however, which is what I did. OTOH, going back to that layout cancels the option jukes, for some reason. R1/L1 is always the normal juke, even if you're behind the line of scrimmage now.

Also, using X/Y to cycle through players is now flipped, even if you go back to the 2005 layout.

Well, I don't want to take away from my playing time but here is my 2 cents.

Passing much better.
Using the right stick is tough to get used to, put it helps in the running game when you do.
The swap of the change player button is killing me. I've played for 4 hours and still screws me up.
Graphics overall are better.
Ginn actually catches passes on a regular basis.
Race for the Hiesman is kind of, eh.
Commentary is very similar to last year. I was hoping for more.
The animation of the game day crew is pretty weak.

Overall, much better, and most of the improvements were made in game play...which is nice in the long run. It's a modest improvement, but still an improvement over an already great game.
