NCAA 2005 - Roster Changes

lloydman

NCAA Junkie
Ira (#5) is in the game as is Louis (#88). Adam Olds is also in the game (#64). Thoughts on who should replace these players?

Devon Lyons (#18) did not make the game as far as I can tell. Any future starters missed?

I converted Ira to be Curt Lukens at LOLB and Izzy to Reggie Smith at LE/RE. I then made each a redshirt in my dynasty. I also considered making Darius Hiley from one of those guys.

Adam Olds is tougher to replace. The only RS-Jrs that aren't on the default roster appear to be QB Matt Trombitas (#24) and OL John Conroy. Conroy seems to get my vote since he's an OL (#59), but I have no idea what to sett his ratings at.

Question for someone with current access to the game (since I'm at work.) Is the backup center (Winner) listed on the roster as a true-JR? If so, then Olds can be moved to center and converted to be Winner who should actually be a RS-JR. The backup Center can then be converted to Stan White at the FB spot and then redshirted during the first year.

I'll probably keep Olds. Players who "wear out their welcome" (read: Clarett, Irizarry, Guilford) get the boot. Players who are victims of misfortune, but are still welcome in the Buckeye community get to stay in the game (read: Olds, Douglas, McNutt). It's my own version of football justice.

Ok......new to the the NCAA 2005 and such....I'm still trying to figure things out on it. As I'm playing it now all I see on the backs of the players is their positon and number...I know you can change that to nothing or number only but is it possible to actually add names to all the different players?

Also I'm playing the Dynasty feature and have penalties turned on but after playing only two games there haven't really been any penalties like you would expect in a real game. I don't know if I've missed something or not. I just want to try and make it as realistic as possible. I've got it set to Heisman, penalties, injuries and everything else on but after playing the first two games, Cincy and Marshall I won both games by like a total of 150 to nothing. So I must not have something set right.

Any tips and suggestions would be appreciated.

Hey Skins.

In the first menu where it gives you the choice of play now, there is a "features" menu. Go to rosters, edit rosters. On OSU click on the player and you can change everything about the player, including name, except for where they are from and what year they are in. Name, measurables, attributes, etc. can be changed there.

On penalties, there is a screen in the same section that will let you change the way the game is played...there are bars that let you slide up or down depending on how mcuh you want penalties enforced, in this case.

and by the way, if you are winning by that wide of a margin in Heisman and you are new to this game then you are definetely doing something right. I can't get those scores on All-American and I beat everyone I know, head to head.

Thanks for the advice. I thought I looked at that area you mentioned under features and the only thing I saw that could be changed was like I mentioned, number only, nothing or position and number. I don't remember seeing where you could change the name of all the players. I did see where you could creat one player but that was all I saw. Guess I need to go back and look again.

As for the penalties I have the scroll bars set at the halfway point....looks like I might need to push it further to the right and see what happens. Just too few penalites for a realistic game.

As for doing something right, I'm not so sure about that. I've played the first two games and have beaten Cincy and Marshall by scores of 79-0 and 75 to nothing. Not too realistic so there must be something I am missing.

Thanks again for the info .

Check the difficulty setting. Right now I'm playing on All American. I'm still getting used to the 2005 gameplay.

www.ps2rosters.com has full named rosters for all 1-A and 1-AA teams. (It has X-Box too.)

Use a Max Drive or something similar to put them on your memory card.

As long as not too many PS2 people need the rosters, some of you could send me your memory cards and I could load them on and send them back. Actually, I think www.ps2rosters.com does that for 4 bucks or something. . .

Finally, the rosters are great, but they miss a few things. We still have Irizzary and Guilford. But Dukes is on there. Overall they are excellent.

Tip- You'll need to keep one set of default rosters (named only) for online play (if you play online.) Any rosters that have changed attributes or the like will revert to the unnamed versions when you play online (at least I think so.) I keep 1 set of rosters that were only named and another set with changes (converted Izzy to another player/position and the like.)
