NCAA 12 (PS3) 4th Annual Online Dynasty Thread

GG Piney. I squeaked out a win 31-28 that came down to a 4th and 17 for Piney and came up literally inches short because his receiver went to the ground to catch it.

Pretty rough game for me, I lost my 1st and 2nd string RB and this is the first time I took a starting true FR QB on the road. There a couple of plays that I had a player open and the slight delay in 'button to throw' caused a sack or throw into coverage; specifically a streaking receiver in the third quarter down the middle against two deep S, if I complete that it's a huge gain, instead Piney got the sack and I punt the next play. I actually kind of liked it because the throws weren't terribly inaccurate, just the decision making felt slower. That's much easier to handle than the wide by 5 yards directly to a safety throws we've had. All-in-all, my QB ended up playing pretty well despite the two early picks. My third string RB is a nice scat-back, but he doesn't fit my power run style as he goes down pretty easily. If my first two RB's are out I am going to have to adapt to his strengths.

Yeah, good game last night. I still can't believe that 4th and 17. Had that guy break open over the middle and then somehow I short armed it (I recall hearing something about my QB being hit, were you just about to hit him?) Guy still caught it, but he had to go to the ground to catch it so he couldn't turn and get that extra yard needed. But the two plays before it were huge, your sack on 2nd down to take me out of FG range and then your D-Lineman able to bat the ball down to prevent the completion to my HB that would have gotten me back into FG range.

Really was a competitive game. Even though I took a 14-0 lead early in the game I knew fanatic would adjust. (I mean how was I able to run on you all of the sudden?) I really think if your HBs didn't go down I would have won... however scary as that sounds.

I think a big key for you coming back was the last 90 seconds of the half. I was able to stop you inside the 5 and force you to kick a FG and I decided to take a timeout to give me some time to try to score... BIG mistake. As my offense goes backward and you call your timeouts so you got the ball with plenty of time and good field position to get a TD before the half... then you get the ball to start the 2nd half :(

Then it was a back and forth game the rest of the way. I am sure you just loved that 80 yard bomb I had... my stud WR beat your CB at the line and with no safety over the top it was an easy TD.

Was interesting that your young QB was rattled as I was able to see it. Don't ya just love the '?' over the receiver? That will be my hell next season as I will either have a redshirt frosh or true frosh as my QB next season.

Should be a fun SEC title game...

So all that's left is Piney's and shehad's recruiting. I should be able to advance tomorrow, then.

Yeah, I'll get my recruiting in tonight. Will try to do it ASAP, ie 8-9pm depending on when my kid goes to bed as Friday night we sometimes let him stay awake a lil longer.

On the last play, I think my DL was applying pressure. I was the LB and I looped inside and drew away the DT from him. My starting RB is great initially but doesn't have breakaway speed. After the two picks I was going to take a few series of just running the ball with a few dinks and dunks to settle him down, but that last minute drive gave me some confidence as long as he had time.

The long TD pass was a bonehead play by me. You ran hurry up and I quickly chose Cover 1 man and still pressed. Shouldn't have done that with limited help over top.

You ran well because your RB is good. My DL will be good but I don't have the anchors like I've had last few seasons. In two seasons they'll be good but I have to get creative at times for pressure. The strength of my line is pass rush, but they're pretty easily pushed around so I am spending the rest of the season tinkering with a lineup for run situations.

My FR QB is an 81 I think, so for a FR he is nice, but there were times that only one of the WR's had their icons available. I run a lot of bunch formations and rely too much on pre snap views to remind me which WR is which, I have an idea but that almost cost me the one TD to the crossing TE from the 5 or 6.

Has to be that your DT anchors aren't there, because my current RB is not as good as my RBs in previous seasons. And I may like his backup better, still tinkering with that and didn't want to bring out the frosh for this game.

Yeah, would have preferred the run game with a lil dink and dunk versus seeing 5 WR sets... I missed on way too many CB recruits the past 2 seasons and are weak there after my top 3 CBs. It took me way too long to figure out how to deal with that against those sets.

Maybe my defense is a little worse than I thought. I set both tackle settings to conservative and he was still breaking tackles.

It looks like my PS3 just shit the bed again. I'm not going to get it repaired. I'll get a new one instead. Unfortunately, it won't be right away. So here's the thing, I can advance and everything through the web, but it getting a PS3 happens later rather than sooner, it may just be easier to transfer commish duties to someone. I'll let everyone know in a week or so if I need to give up being the commish.

PS3 $199

Nice sale at Gamestop that started today. Not sure if there is an end date or not.

The fan or something broke, so there's nothing to cool the engine. I can't even keep it on long enough backup my saves to an external hard drive. I last did one in January, so it's not that big a deal, but there are still some games (Skyrim, Mass Effect 3) that I played a ton since then.

I'm still getting the, "Are you sure you want to advance past Week 1?" message. I have to be honest, this worries the hell out of me. I'm going to advance not matter what later tonight. All I ask is that you don't save the game right away when you load up. If the dynasty's messed up, I might need someone with the old save to transfer the OD to.
