Damn good game last night. A turnover fest for sure, but it felt like a well played game. Of course some plays just [censored]ed me off to no end.
#1 - Hate playing someone and not realizing what type of offense they run. First play from scrimage I picked the wrong type of defense and paid the price as your HB broke through the line and he was GONE. From that point on, I think I played pretty good defense the rest of the way since that was your only 'real' TD
#2 - I felt like benching my TE on the spot. I downloaded the video of this play and will have to figure out a way to post it when I get home from work. QB gets sacked and fumbles, my TE is all alone and all he has to do is fall on the ball, what does he do? He dives over the ball by 10 feet and Clemson picks it up and waltzes 20 yards for the TD. WTF?!?!?!?
Down 14-0 too damn easy. I am thinking... oh [Mark May] I am going to get a fanatic type of beating in this game. But I only give up 3 points the rest of the way and had the ball with a lil over a minute to play needing a TD. And I should have had it.... except...
#3 - About 45 seconds left down 7, Clemson has a breakdown in coverage. My WR on a post route beat his guy and is ahead by 5-10 yards. I let loose, but my QB slightly underthrows is instead of leading him like I was trying. Probably cuz my QB was moving to his left cuz I was ready to scramble so that might have caused the slight underthrow and Clemson's FS was able to recover and tip the ball. If I lead my WR deep, that's a TD throw. Of course the next play my QB for whatever reason throws a jump ball for an INT.... really...I hit the button for an underneath route and he just throws a jump ball to nobody but 4 Clemson defenders and game over.
