2025 NC OL David Sanders Jr. (Tennessee Signee)

Yep, good old fashioned bidding war. One I think we will win, but there will be a fight for sure. This is the recruit you push all the chips to the center of the table on...I hate hyperbole, but this is not hyperbole because this is the type of player that wins you a championship. Elite OL and DL are what wins you a title. Sanders is an elite OL that could be the difference in a title run, so let's get this one done.

Speaking of the trenches, Ohio State is still working hard to try and land five-star offensive tackle David Sanders Jr. The Buckeyes have been jockeying for position with Tennessee, as it feels like the battle has come down to those two programs after Clemson was once in the lead with Georgia also still hanging around. Sanders is the No. 1 OT and No. 2 player nationally per the 247Sports Composite, and would obviously be an incredible addition to Ohio State’s already impressive 2025 class.

Well, it doesn't suck
Happen to know if the two have an existing relationship other than just on the socials? I didn't even think about how Odom could help bring in a fellow NC recruit that he would practice against every day. Every angle could help in getting Sanders here, though I do think we're in good position regardless.

Tbh, I honestly don't know. But I wouldn't be surprised. They are only 20min from one another. And at the very least, with social media kids can stay connected at all times

Good thoughts. Heck, they could carpool to Ohio in their twin Lambos- oops wrong thread. Don't bother with any Tennessee threads, but if Sanders wants a 'brotherhood', it appears with what have read on BP that there's alot of recruits showing him some love. And tOSU the money, so maybe he needs tOSU med school to show him a locker with his name on it, if he follows that path. Anyway, believe Sanders is the most ballyhooed recruit in a long stretch of time. Those with better memories might disagree, but in recent history maybe.

To spare some expense of drama that I'm pretty sure everyone already knows, it won't be Nebraska. Georgia and Tennessee will be the fight, but given how this has played out I'm actually pretty confident in winning this one despite all my cautious optimism. Lots of time before the commitment though.

1. Ohio State fans should feel good about their chances of landing David Sanders Jr.

Friedman: FACT.
Ohio State has made incredible progress with
David Sanders Jr.
over the last month and a half. The Buckeyes put themselves in position to be one of the favorites for the No. 1 offensive tackle in the Rivals250. They are essentially facing off with Tennessee at this point in the process but Georgia and Nebraska will also have hats on the table when Sanders announces his commitment on Aug. 17.

It's been an up and down few weeks for Ohio State on the recruiting trail, both landing and missing on some major targets. For Ryan Day and company, it seems like there are the top prospects they want and then the top prospects they want to go all in to get. Sanders appears to fit into the latter category and that bodes well for the Buckeyes.
Birmingham: FACT. If we went back in time six months it’s nearly impossible to believe that Ohio State would be a real player — let alone a top contender — for five-star offensive tackle David Sanders Jr.
But as the country’s top-ranked offensive lineman and his family buckle down and get into decision mode, it seems the Buckeyes, along with the Tennessee Volunteers, are leading the pack.
Sanders doesn’t seem to be in love with the recruiting process and has taken his time to make the best, most-informed decision he can and he’s gained a ton of insight into what Ohio State is all about from the budding relationship he’s developed with
Paris Johnson Jr.
Johnson’s family has been integral for Sanders and his family.

Ryan Day, Justin Frye and the rest of the Buckeyes coaching staff left no stone unturned at this point. Will that pay off come Aug. 17? It’s recruiting in 2024 and nothing seems like a guarantee but absolutely Ohio State is a very real contender.
