I can assume it’s due to his size. He looks to have lost a ton of weight compared to when he played OL as well. And LJsr was looking at him as more of a 3 tech DT, and he’s the size of a DE now

Hopefully, the communication between the two parties is honest and straightforward. If weight is the issue, seems like Dean wouldn't have a problem packing some good muscle assuming he has the discipline to follow whatever Coach Mick would have in store for him.

OR, he was promised to play DE for another school(and we all know that DEs are more coveted than DEs). We can't assume that OSU is the only school he's prioritizing, and that he wants to play DT. I'm sure there will be constant evaluation, but LJsr may look elsewhere for priority DTs
