NBA Finals - Celtics vs. Lakers

Paul Pierce has perfected the "I'm getting fouled bump" to perfection. I get a little upset b/c it's basically a flop, but he does it so damn well. Kobe made zero contact with him, but Pierce shimmies his body so well it looks like a bump/contact.

He did it the Cavs, Hawks, and anyone else he has played since entering the league.

It needs a name. It's really that good.

The name is "horseshit pussy flop"

That's a decent name I guess...because he somewhat looks like a horse who is bucking the way he throws his head up and down even though nobody is touching him.

I guess I don't understand why officials haven't learned that patented move yet. It's like watching Duke continuously take flops, but the official is there to call a charge every time.

Paul doesn't get that call all the time, but it's worth several fouls a night. And he won the game with it tonight. Kobe did a good job not to get a technical on that call.

This year, there's nothing against flopping, next year, well there will be some fines. But right now, it's the only way to get fouls called.

You can have all the sour grapes you want, but let's look at this game:

First quarter, Lakers come out aggressive and take control.

Second quarter: They ride that lead and don't take chances.

Third Quarter: OH SHIT, WHAT THE FUCK JUST HAPPENED?!?

Fourth Quarter: Pierce owns Kobe, I mean he just destroyed him, I think Kobe was worn out from game 3, but that was the bottom line, either kobe didn't have the energy to go, or Pierce just handled him.

It's obviously very easy to say right now, but the NBA is the epitomy of a game with runs. As soon as Boston made a small run in the second quarter(made a big run until the last minute and LA re-extended it) it was pretty conclusive that Boston would make a game of it.

There's just something psycological about big leads in the NBA against good teams. They never stick. And I don't think the officials bailed Boston out, even though tey got duped by Paul Pierce on his acting job. Boston just rode the wave to a victory.

The thing is, the Lakers changed the game after the first quarter. In the second quarter, it felt like they were playing like the game was over. In the third, the Celtics moved to a smaller line and the Lakers didn't exploit that, they went for outside shots instead of just driving, and in the fourth they went into desperation mode.

The bottom line though, the Celtics are just better. The Lakers played the most physical they could tonight, but the Celtics just destroyed them, Pao isn't physical, and he's the guy in the middle. And the Lakers defense fell off of the 1 on 1 game, which is why the won game 3.

Boston has a great team, my hats off to them, KG proved he's not a choker, and Paul Pierce did something no on in the playoffs could do, he turned Kobe Bryant from the MVP to an "Average Player."

It was Posey and House that won it for them.

Posey sucked with exception to a 2 minute run tonight. Huge shots though.

I agree with your premise that Posey and House stepped up big when they had too, but the call against Kobe on Paul essentially ended the game.

Less than 40 seconds left, Celtics up by 2, Pierce acts like he's being rided when he isn't being touched, gets the call and makes both free throws.

4 point lead, less than 40 seconds.

That hurts badly.
