NBA Discussion (Official Thread)

Suns are on to the Finals for the first time since 1993

Nice to get some new blood.
Yep, the NBA title will go to a city that has either never had one, or only won it 50 years ago (Milwaukee, BTW, how did that Kareem trade work out?).

And for titles in other sports, those cities are also not used to winning titles:

Arizona/Phoenix - only MLB in 2001, never in NHL, NBA, or NFL

Milwaukee- only MLB in 1957 with the Braves, 1971 in the NBA

Atlanta - only MLB in 1995, never in NHL with 2 teams now gone, NFL, or NBA (Hawks won in St. Louis in 1958)

Trae Young is out again tonight. But the truth is Atlanta is a lot better positioned to replace him than Milwaukee is with Giannis. Lou Williams is a very good player and has been the 6th man of the year in the NBA recently, so putting him in the starting lineup is not a bad thing - and the Hawks weren't even using him that much before. Plus, as OH has mentioned, Cam Reddish returning to health gives the Hawks a new bench player to help as well.

So of course the Bucks come out hot at home.

Three players on the roster -- Milwaukee Bucks stars Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday and Phoenix's Devin Booker -- are still active in the postseason and could play as late as July 22, the latest date for an NBA Finals Game 7.

Team USA's first game in Japan is scheduled for July 25 against France. But all three have committed to traveling quickly to Japan by private plane, Colangelo said.

Here’s a look at the exhibition schedule, which consists of five games against Nigeria, Spain, Argentina and Australia (twice). All games are listed in Eastern Time.
Friday, July 16 at 3:30 p.m.: USA vs. Australia
Sunday, July 18 at 9 p.m.: USA vs. Spain

A Suns sweep of 4 games would make 3 players on the Olympic team available sooner, i.e. 14 July 2021; and available for a couple exhibition/practice games.....Go Suns in 4!!!.....

Bucks and Giannis have to be the biggest frauds in the league.

They run the worst offense I’ve ever seen- no spacing, no plan. They just get saved by Middleton or Holiday being hot. Coach Bud needs fired.
Not getting saved by Middleton and/or Holiday and these are the results. They’re lucky Giannis is even doing what he can after his injury otherwise it’s ugly. Scoring looks like a chore, while Phoenix carves them up from all over.

Role players should perform better at home, so I’m not saying it’s over but CP3, Booker and the Suns are in big time control.
