NBA Discussion (Official Thread)

i rarely ever watch the nba. don't really care about it.

but that timeout is going to make it hard to fall asleep tonight.

This is pretty much the only time I watch it, but I'll lose no sleep over that time out.

While morning talking head shows obsess over the NBA, I last about 90 seconds before scrolling to a music channel. I honestly don't "get" the fascination with this league.

mind you, what ticks me off is not that the warriors won. nor that it has anything to do with the nba, really. sure, i'd rather the fabricated team lose, especially because of draymond, but what angers me is just the stupidity. you should never, ever, never call a timeout there. doesn't matter if it's the nba or the rec league at the y.

That's true in college as well.

Originally, the goal was to get close to the basket to increase your chances of scoring. Now it's like playing football where field goals beyond 40 yards are worth 8 points.
I also see that on my kids' jr high school team.

I was actually wondering where the throw-up-a-brick air-raid strategy was coming from. Now I know. I thought it was just a couple spoiled kids on the team, thinking they were lights-out good shooters (in their own minds).

It's no surprise because I'm guessing that mostly these kids are watching highlight films on youtube (like my song) to feed their love for the game. We would've done the same thing way back when, but all we had was the 11 o'clock news and sportscenter.
