NBA Discussion (Official Thread)

Wow. That front office for the Bulls has done absolute wonders in the last couple of years. If they managed to grab KG (which sounds very unlikely), then they are an instant contender, with the additions of him and Wallace. It looks like those years of hell for all Bulls fans may finally be over.

There's no way the Bulls have enough cash left to pick up KG's contract, and if they did They would have to give up too much of their young talent. The Bulls are still going to have to rely on shooting and Gordon driving to the hoop unless Thomas can come in and give them an offensive presence in the paint. They are going to be a bitch to play against with that interior defense.
I hope Lebron will hurry up and agree to his extension so that the Cavs can get active in the FA market. If he waits too long they might miss out on some of the guys they want. Does anyone else think Gooden for Tyson Chandler would be a good move for the Cavs and the Bulls, or do the Cavs need another big man who can score? It sounds like the Cavs will match any offer Gooden gets since they aren't worried about moving him later if they want to.

Your in luck BN27- I found a list. Here ya go!

http://www.draftexpress.com/viewarticle.php?a=1391

Gmac is on Orlando.

EDIT: I didn't know Foster is on the Cavs roster! Cool.

Dials is on Toronto.

I really think if Foster can regain his confidence he could easily become a player like Raja Bell. Obviously he will need some time to develope but if he can start knocking the three down again he can be a great bench player. Hes a strong kid that can guard a 1 or most 2's.

As a Bulls fan wouldn't like it. I don't think Gooden would bring that much to the team, plus i like the offer of Chandler for Smith and Brown better, because Chandler has a monster contract and PJ is on the last year of his last large contract. So this would free the Bulls up of a lot of money next year which will be needed because they'll have a few playeras to resign and need the money to sign their once again top 5 draft pick thanks to the Knicks. Gooden cost too much money o be worth the Bulls time for right now.

The bad thing is that the Cavs will most likely not be able to give him another chance because we already have to many wing players.

Hopefully he'll make some noise in the summer league and another team can find him a spot on their roster.

I'd keep Gooden over Chandler. He's a better shooter, just as good a rebounder and he's going to have a more favorable contract, making trading him much easier in the fiture, if necessary. Let Chandler and his 5 points a game stay in Chicago.

ESPN.com - The Chicago Bulls and New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets have verbally agreed to a deal that will send Tyson Chandler to the Hornets for P.J. Brown and J.R. Smith.

The deal will officially go through July 12, which is the first day NBA teams can officially complete signings and trades after the league announces the salary cap for the 2006-07 season.

After signing Ben Wallace, the Bulls had an excuse to unload Chandler's lengthy, expensive contract to the highest bidder.</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

I like what the Bulls did and the Pacers did.
I think Daniels could be a star; I normally like Cuban's moves. Any Dallas or Pacers fans that can make better sense of the trade?

I agree, too. I've always been high on Daniels' potential, and have always been on his badwagon, due to the fact that he made it as an unsigned free agent. What I technically see is the Mavericks trading for a veteran forward that has experience in the playoffs, although the trade does seem a little lopsided, pointing towards Indiana's favor.

If O'Neal is hurt again for the Pacers this year, Daniels could have a breakout season this year, and even with a healthy O'Neal, he might prove to be a quality sidekick for the Pacers.

It does seem lopsided- but both teams satisfy their needs.

Daniels didn't and wont' get much time behind Howard, Terry, Harris, and Stackhouse in Dallas. They also drafted Maurice Ager. They needed a player to back up Dirk and now they have it.

Indiana needed a wing player after losing Peja and got this with Daniels.

Dallas know that they were giving away more talent but knew they wouldn't use Daniels alot. They did a good job of trading him to a team that isn't in their division or a title contender.

"The longer it drags on, we will come to the point of no return where Chris will not look back and will no longer want to be in Seattle," said Jeff Fried, the Washington, D.C.-based agent for Wilcox. "Since it appears that the Sonics are unwilling to give Chris his fair-market value, we're looking at other options."

According to one NBA source, as many as nine teams have contacted the Sonics about Wilcox, but general manager Rick Sund has declined to seriously entertain each offer.

Golden State is believed to be the latest team to inquire about Wilcox, but discussions with Seattle ended quickly because the Sonics are hoping to land an All-Star forward in return.

Many believed the Sonics would offer Wilcox the six-year, $42 million deal they extended Vladimir Radmanovic last year, but Seattle's offer was slightly lower because only a few teams have the salary-cap flexibility to aggressively pursue the 6-foot-10 power forward.

Press Release - The Indiana Pacers announced Thursday the signing of first-round draft pick Shawne Williams, and James White, acquired in a draft-day trade, to contracts. Per club policy, terms of the contracts were not disclosed.

Williams, a 6-9, 225-pound forward from the University of Memphis, was the team’s No. 1 pick (17th overall) in the 2006 NBA Draft. He averaged 13.2 points per game for the Tigers in his freshman season before making himself eligible for the draft.

White is a 6-7, 200-pound swingman from the University of Cincinnati. He was chosen by the Portland Trail Blazers as the first pick of the second round (31st overall) of the 2006 Draft. He was then acquired by the Pacers in exchange for their 2006 second-round pick (45th overall) and two future second-round picks. In three seasons with the Bearcats, he averaged 11.7 ppg, including a 16.3 scoring average his senior year.
