Na'eem Offord (DB Oregon)

Ohio State coach appears to call out former 5-star commit for flipping to Oregon

The Buckeyes are keeping receipts.

The Buckeyes have barely broken a sweat in the first two games of the postseason, with people fired up over handing the Ducks their embarrassing loss. This victory for Ohio State is extra special too, as the Buckeyes haven't forgotten about touted prospects who have bailed on Ohio State to sign with Oregon.

The list includes 5-star cornerback Na'eem Offord, the No. 10 player nationally according to the 247Sports Composite. It looks like this is something Ohio State associate head coach and cornerbacks coach Tim Walton has on his mind, as he appears to have called out Offord and others on social media for passing on OSU to sign with Oregon instead.

Ohio State fans are letting Na'eem Offord have it after the Buckeyes destroyed Oregon

Ohio State fans are convinced Walton is sending a message to Offord here and we agree with them. Offord, one of the top players in the nation for the 2025 class, was a long-time commit to the Buckeyes, but then he turned his back on Ohio State ahead of the Early Signing Period.

Yeah, “letting him have it” is a great way of enticing a high school to become associated with your fan base.

Keep talking smack to 18 year olds, that’ll really show that this is a great fan base
First, I don't think Walton is calling any specific recruit out. It was more of a general "be the best or get beat by us" post.

Second, yes...leave this all alone, we're going to be just fine at DB and Offord went for the $ bag. Fine with that and best of luck.

Yeah if the kids want to talk trash that's fine. but adults talking trash to kids is lame. Let adults talk to trash to each other. Wanna take a shot Bert go for it.

Yeah people just try to over think and infer things. With the way players move around today, I highly doubt he would call a player out. Who knows, he or another certain DB could find their way to the Buckeyes in the future.

I don't think it's that serious. And with the Portal being so active no HS in America can turn their nose up at any program. That 2star LB who committed Coastal Carolina but really wanted that Georgia offer will get mad and work his butt off to show them. But I can assure you that if he produces and Georgia offers him if he enters the Portal he will think seriously about going there
