Assistant Coach
Anyone remember a couple of years ago when we played a Texas team that had a young QB named, Colt McCoy? I don't recall that team playing very well and Colt looking to great either. Look at the man now, he's one of the hottest players in college football. What's my point here? Sure it's great to win and go to the NC every year, but sometimes a program needs to be humbled. I think this year is very humbling and will show us many things. It will show everyone who the true buckeyes are, fans, players, etc. How we bounce back from this down year will be a testament to how great this program is. I know I'm going to look forward to the rest of the year and years to come as these younger players mature and develop! Seeing the progression Colt has made, it sends chills through my body as I think about what TP is going to do! Also, remember it's not all over. We've still got scum to pound on at the end of the year. Let's send these seniors out with another win against the team up north! Keep your heads up buckeye fans, this program will bounce back!

If you call our season humbling, what do you call Meatchicken's? Wisconsin's? How spoiled are we that 2 losses and not winning the conference makes a season humbling? Thank you, Jim Tressel.

For real You cant win them all and u can't go to the NC game every year. I will take the two Loses and a bowl win against a SEC team. We need to get that monkey of are back. Know other team i would rather root for. GO BUCKS! :oh:

Thank you for a voice of reason. Sometimes it good to take a step back and detach yourselves from your team. How many programs would love to be where we are? How many programs would love to go to as many BSC bowl games as we have? This program will bounce back, although it will not as far to bounce as others. I would rather bounce back from a two loss season then from a five loss season.

I just wonder what the offensive line would be like if there was a different line coach. Jon Petersen is the tight ends coach right ? Or does he help with the O/ Line coaching. IN 2004 alot of Ohio State fans were screaming for Jim Bollemans head and for Coach T to get an Offensive Co-Ordinator. All that went away in 2006 but now I wonder if this situation will rise its ugly head again after what happened saturday night.

Lets be real and face up to the fact that the BIG 10 (Or 11) is right now a middle of the stream Conference. Living here in the south can be murderous to hear the SEC fans laughing and making jokes about our conference. When will it ever end. I feel like I am living in purgatory here.

Just one bad play by a freshman QB is sad and that it had to end that way. But for some reason I am at a loss to figure out our offensive line play. There just seems to be so much talent there but some people have told me that the Ohio State line is slow and that they look like they are playing in army boots. Maybe alot of us are in denial here and can't see the real problem. Again i say, would another offensive line coach sovle one of the situations.

Pryor isnt the problem at all, or your argument would be valid.

I wasn't saying Pryor was the problem. I was just comparing him to a young McCoy and how Colt has developed throughout his career. If Pryor follows in a similar path we all know he is going to be great and will accomplish very much. To me this was a humbling season compared to the past two where we went to the NC. Sure loosing more games would be even more humbling, but I think we have a better program than that and this season will prove a lot to our future teams!

Great post!
You are right about Colt and the progress that he has made but I don't think we may have to wait as long for TP to make the same progress.
But to make a point on something else, Ohio State has lost just 5 games in the past three years, (Florida, Illinois, LSU, USC and Penn State). Losing is never enjoyable, but with the exception of the Illinois game these have all been top 5 teams, two of which were for the National Championship! Yes those two were embarassing loses, but I choose to think in terms of the successes (2002 National Championship, beating Michigan nearly every year) Have we all forgotton from where our program was in the years prior to Coach Tressel's arrival? How many times did a Coach Cooper team beat Michigan? And how many bowls game wins did we have, etc..
It's hard to swallow any loss, but I will take our current success any day!:oh:
