The god damn buttons on this game are hard as fuck to figure out. I just got done with my first game on rookie and I got beat 18-2.
don't worry, it only took me about 30 games to stop messing up on the basepaths! I had runners going back to third after tagging up ...runners going to second with some guy already there..... it was a freakin disaster. You'll get the hang of it...

I caved and bought this game online yesterday. With rugby season over in about a month, I figured I would need something to take up some time. What teams are you guys using? I figure I will probably have to start a dynasty with the Tribe, although I wouldn't mind starting one with the A's and playing the part of Billy Beane.

1. I love this game.

2. I restarted my Mets dynasty once I got the online roster udpates up and running. Unfortunately there is talk that EA won't have any more roster updates, so the rest of the transactions will have to be manual.

3. Having Baseball America's top prospects is sweet, although most of the names are incorrect. Had to change two of the Mets prospects. Lastings Milledge already has 2 SBs and a HR in 2 games for the Binghamton Mets.

4. David Wright may go 50/50 this year in my dynasty. I am four games in and he is hitting .444 with 2 HRs, 5 RBIs, and 2 SBs. Jose Reyes may be the next Vince Coleman.

5. I stepped up to All-Star last night after sweeping the Reds 3-0 and not allowing a run. I will probably have to tweak the sliders a bit. I would be curious to know how people have tweaked the gameplay. I have made both mine and the CPU's OFs and IFs a bit slower. I felt like they were getting to too many balls too easily. I dropped down the steal delay, and maxed out both mine and the CPU's foul frequency. I also boosted both the contact and power just about 10 points. I also lowered the pitch speed a touch and went so now you can actually see where the pitch is headed and draw an occasional walk.

6. Has anyone started making money yet in owner's mode?

7. Great call by BuckStopsHere on www.operationsports.com. That is where I got some ideas for tweaking the gameplay. Great slider sets and roster updates available as well. Has anyone tried www.dynastymanager.com?

8. I love this game.

him and pitcher Yousmeiro Petit are going to kick ass in Binghamton this year. I go up for about 4 or 5 games a year. its a good time. i love that they have NYSEG stadium in the game.

Petit is the other guy I had to edit on the B-Mets roster because they had a top 100 RHP prospect listed with some other name. I plan to go through and update most of the other top prospect's names as well.

if you get a chance, take in a Cyclones game some time. I had a chance to see them play a few times while I was still living over there, but never made to a Binghamton game.

Milledge is listed as the Mets top prospect and Petit is #2.

Prospects and Name Changes

Here is a list I started to compile for people starting a dynasty (I am not sure if you can have more than one human in a dynasty). This is just the first list I have come up with which mainly covers the top 100 prospects and a few other young players. Downloading the most recent roster update from EA and then making these changes will get you off to a pretty accurate start in your dynasty.

I fully intend to find away to erase Jim Duquette's mistake to trade Scott Kazmir for Victor Zambrano. I may not get Kazmir back, but I may go after Zach Duke or Cole Hamels. We shall see.

Players in bold are Top 100 prospects.
Players with an = after their name need to have their name edited.
Player not in bold just need to have their name changed.
Let me know if you have additions, deletions, changes, etc.
