i like the owner mode and i like the hitters eye or whatever they call it. if you do a fantasy draft make sure you get manny ramirez....guy hits everything out of the park.
I heard you can control your minor leagues in the owner mode. How does that work.

And I got to know how are my reds.

you can pretty much manage every game of every level of play (A, AA, AAA, MLB) or if you are like me you can just sim the minor league games. you do the rosters and all of that....pretty cool if you are into that stuff. you can go in depth. its also cool for people who live near a minor league team. I live near the B-Mets and they got the actual stadium in the game.

i havent played as any teams yet...the first thing i did was a fantasy draft. Make sure you get good pitchers also.

i would imagine they are. manny is going to bat .500 for me easily. i think ortiz is pretty good in the game too. if i cared more about baseball i probably wouldve played a season as the white sox and been destroyed by boston by now. i bet the yankees arent too shabby either.

if you have an online adapter you can go online and download the latest rosters that put sosa on baltimore and stuff like that. maybe they will take jim dowd out of the game now too

Figured I would chime in since I've had the game for awhile now...

First off - check out this site www.operationsports.com go to the forums (probably need to register a name) and click on mvp 2005. There are hundreds of guys there that are "nerds" about this game. They have slider settings to make the gameplay more realistic, even though the out of the box set up wasn't bad. There are also discussions on rosters, tips, inside stuff....great site to discuss stuff...

I play the dynasty right now..the owners mode is SO indepth that I don't have time to mess with it. YOu need to set concession prices and how much tickets are...buy upgrades... etc etc... VERY in depth.

Dynasty is just taking your teams and making them the best via trades, call ups, spring training, drafts..etc.

The spring training starts AFTER the first season is over. I think you can improve like 5 guys, haven't done it yet but read a lot on that site about it. There are also Baseball America's Top 100 prospects littered throughout the minor leagues of each team. These are the guys that should make the most improvement throughtout the game. And yes, according to others, players do improve each year and ALSO players go down as they get older!!

As far as gameplay.. never have I ever played a baseball game this realistic. Absolutely unbelievable. The stuff that the A.I. does will blow you away.

I'm on All-Star level right now, but started on Pro. I find it hard to hit, but with the sliders adjustments you can make it however you want. I like the challenge.

I'm the Brewers and my team is like 17- 29. I had a 10 game losing streak where I couldn't do anything right.

Check out the slider settings on that site for sure. Definitely play around with them and see how much better the gameplay is after playing the standard out of the box setup.

Oh yeah - if you are online...you will enjoy the roster updates..otherwise plan on spending about 4 hours doing it yourself...or not.

It's time to bring it!
I'm not a huge baseball fan, but I got this game on Saturday, after reading through this thread. The game is awesome. I'm truly impressed with how detailed everything is.

I like being able to play as the minor league teams and send guys up/down. The graphics are excellent, especially since it has HDTV 720. The sound is pretty good. I like the pitching control/meter. Batting can be tough. Sidearm and knuckleball pitches are tough to hit (I suck at hitting off of those guys.)

The baserunning and fielding can be tough with all of the buttons (I'm getting better but still get confused at times.) The game does a nice job providing balance that allows great players ot be great and average players to be average.

It's a great game. I played it most of the weekend. Very impressive.

Wow, I might actually have to buy my first baseball game in ages! I am a huge baseball fan but it never translated with me to Video games, well except for RBI Baseball... that game rocked!

I am the type of person that would love to tinker with the minor leagues and stuff and probable just simulate all of the games. Sweet, but how am I suppose to put down GT4?

The god damn buttons on this game are hard as fuck to figure out. I just got done with my first game on rookie and I got beat 18-2.
