MPC Computers Bowl - Miami 21, Nevada 20 (Dec. 31, 2006)

He then blew it by suggesting that Ron English would be the optimum choice - forgetting that English is waiting in the wings in AA for the day when Carr steps down and TSUN hires another "Michigan Man."

Glenn Sharpe breaks up a pass, and then there's a penalty on the play?

Sounds vaguely familiar.

Wow. The color announcer just called the 2003 Fiesta Bowl call 'robbery'.

Edit - It was David Norrie that made that statement.

Well if anyone knows about robbery, it's Miami and their "fans" (and their fans in the media)

Oh yeah, and I never miss a chance to agree that Mark May is a fucking idiiot, so...yes, I agree, Mark May is a fucking idiot

Tied at 14 in the third quarter. Nevada foolishly went for 2 in the first half when they were up 8-7, or they'd have the lead right now.

EDIT - Miami scores on a 78-yard pass to go up 21-14.

that's a catch! should be two of the most improbably catches in one drive. he caught it with his calves! that's just awesome. this is a play to be remembered. i can't wait to see a still picture of him holding that ball between his legs.

Hopefully replay gives it to him. It looks conclusive to me that it never hit the turf.

BS - I wonder if replay saw that last angle.

that's just despicable. what are these guys doing in the replay booths if they can't do their job when it's obvious what the call should be? it's unacceptable. i'm not surprised, though. long ago i no longer trusted the replay officials to make the right call even when the right call is obvious.

edit: i know a can of worms will be opened, but i don't care. refs need to be held accountable by way of a postgame interview or something akin.
