MPC Computers Bowl - Miami 21, Nevada 20 (Dec. 31, 2006)

that's just despicable. what are these guys doing in the replay booths if they can't do their job when it's obvious what the call should be? it's unacceptable. i'm not surprised, though. long ago i no longer trusted the replay officials to make the right call even when the right call is obvious.

I think they thought it was inconclusive (it was conclusive in my book), but I think they made the decision before seeing that last angle, which was the best one.

mediocre bowl games=horrific officiating crews.......its a travesty to the teams playing in the games that they can not get fair calls and good officiating. like i said this has been much better than last year(so far) but i havnt even seen all the games and as of recently selvin youngs foot being out of bounds and the obvious catch by the nevada guy are 2 recent horrible calls. i just hope not to see more. even if i hate a team i want to see a fair game and let it be known that it was settled on the field not in a replay booth by unobservant assholes.

perhaps, but that's just speculation. nonetheless, there is no good reason for that call.

The game refs are also to blame. They ruled it incomplete since they assumed the ball hit the turf because of the unlikelihood of the catch, not because they saw it hit something blue. With some partially obscured angles, the replay refs wimped out with no overrule. I'm sure they wouldn't have changed the original call if it had been ruled a catch.

But I agree with you, when replay looks at something and doesn't fix the call it's annoying as hell.

Glenn Sharpe breaks up a pass, and then there's a penalty on the play?

Sounds vaguely familiar.

Wow. The color announcer just called the 2003 Fiesta Bowl call 'robbery'.

Edit - It was David Norrie that made that statement.

That's very unprofessional, but then again we're talking about ESPN who seems to hire assholes(Skip Bayless especially) like they're running out of style.

Anyone else wish Chris Spielman was doing the game? Chris would've chewed him out.

Congrats Cryami. You beat Nevada by one point on a last second INT. Now if the announcers can just stop fellating Larry Coker...yeah,yeah...59-15. They conveniently ignore that he's run them from the top of CFB to a bowl game in fucking Idaho.:roll1:

Let's put this in perspective. It's the freakin' MPC Computers Bowl in Boise, ID!
right. that's why so many are watching it. that's why so many posted about the poor call that denied the nevada catch near the endzone. sheesh. it's miami. can't someone be a little pissed that they won?
