MP3 player recommendations

  • I saw the Donnie thread that was mostly about what songs you have on your mp3 player. I am asking for recommendations for players. I really liked the Sony NW-HD5, but they discontinued it. iPods are sweet, but, as outlined in the dj thread, there are compatibility issues.

    What say you?

The only compatibility issues I see for iPods are the inability to use music you purchase through a subscription through a service like Rhapsody. People complain about iTunes, but that place is an even bigger racket than what iTunes is made out to be.

My last one just died without warning, i wont hold it against the brand though, id had it for like 3 years and im rough on em'. I plan on getting an ipod soon though not because its better, just because i can attach it to my car stereo fairly easily.

I have 3 rca lyra's, I keep upgrading and giving the kids the old one. we have a 4, a 5, and a 40 that I upgraded to an 80 ( actually 74.5, gotta love computer math... :shake: )

They will only play mp3's but I don't have to go anywhere to reformat anything or subscribe to anything, just rip it profile it then listen to it. You can profile either from the pc or the player. The problem I have with it is in the "random" function, it isn't really random if it always plays songs in the same order... Although that order changes if I add or remove songs.

Don't geta Nano! They are $100 throw aways.
(CNN) -- Apple has admitted there are problems with its new iPod Nano portable music player, but the technology giant insists the number of units affected by the flaws are minimal.
Problems with the smaller version of the iPod, unveiled earlier this month, include cracked screens and easily-scratched surfaces.
Complaints about the product have led one disgruntled owner to set up a Web site (flawedmusicplayer.com) for others to air their views and post pictures of cracked screens online.

I call bullshit. Most customers I deal with that have those kind of problems with iPods (or anything else for that matter) are either stupid dirtballs who don't take care of their stuff, or they gave the device to their stupid dirtball twelve year old kid.
