However, to base your opinion on his fantasy football value doesn't make much sense. What makes a great fantasy football player is not always what makes a great NFL player.
The perfect example of this is Daunte Culpepper--a great player to have on your fantasy team, but he has yet to get the Vikings anywhere near the Super Bowl and probably never will. Or you can flip it around: Troy Aikman was a great NFL quarterback, but as a fantasy player he was average at best.
Now, I don't know who is the most overrated player in the NFL, but I can tell you the most overrated group: the "versatile" quarterbacks. I am sick of how the media lauds these guys and tells us ad naseum how they are revolutionizing the game. Problem with this argument is that not one of them has lead their team to the Super Bowl. Sure, your versatile quarterback might get you a lot of coverage on ESPiN and he might sell a lot of tickets because of the exciting plays, but it is the traditional, drop-back quarterback who is going to get you to the Super Bowl.
I don't know how you are drawing these conclusions about Culpepper. The reason the Vikings aren't going anywhere has nothing to do with their offense. Has yet to get them NEAR the super bowl? Uh, does the NFC championship game count?
Furthermore, Vick in terms of "versatile" is in a class by himself. McNabb and Culpepper have versitility, but certainly not more than Steve Young did in his day or Fran Tarkington did in his day. Vick is only in his 3rd year of starting. What had Manning done in 3 years? Same thing...NOTHING.
