Most Exciting Finish in The Game

I voted 2005 because we HAD to score as opposed to today when we HAD to SURVIVE.

We all love "The Shoe" and as a fan of the University we love to host this game. However, maybe its just my warped mind working in full gear, but I LOVE it when we beat those cocksuckers on their own turf. There is nothing in this world that I love more than seeing about 98,000 crying, pissed off scUM fans having to leave that foul smelling hell-hole "Pig House" knowing that TOSU just kicked their useless, cuckholding asses.

Going back in history, beyond the years listed above, here are three of my favorites.

1975
In a game when the Buckeyes were the unanimous #1 team in the country, the weasels behind notorious pain in the ass freshman Rick Leach pulled ahead 14-7 in the fourth quarter. The game was in typical cloudy, dreary weather. After the kickoff, the Buckeyes got the ball back with that magical number 7:11 left on the clock- and on top of that the sun somehow made its way through the clouds. Corny drives us down for the score to tie it, Ray Griffin makes THAT interception, and big Pete finishes it off for the 21-14 win.

1979
Coach Bruce takes over for Coach Hayes and runs the table going to the Pig House. Jim Laughlin blocks a punt late in the game with Todd Bell scooping it up and taking it in for a TD to turn a 15-12 deficit into an 18-15 win. Buckeyes go to the Rose Bowl #1 yet 6 point underdogs to USC and play their ass off only to lose in the last few minutes 17-16 to a USC team that was on paper 2 touchdowns better.

1981
scUM pretty much dominates the game but the Buckeye defense doesn;t allow a TD. Down 9-7 late, Art scampers into the endzone for a 14-9 win spearheaded by what I think to this day think is the greatest block in the history of College football by fullback Vaughn Broadnax. You can check it out on Youtube if you've never seen it.

Peace

Among the games from the last century, I'd go with 1975, as Dubs just described very well.

1974 also is worth a mention since tOSU won The Game scoring only field goals while the opponent had scored a TD. TSUN kicker Mike Lantry missed a FG attempt at the end, repeating his personal history from the previous year in AA.

This is....the only time....a team has won by only kicking FG's and the other team has scored a TD....no?

Of the choices in the original list, have to go with '02 because a) a spot in the NC game was stake, b) TSUN had 2 opportunities to score in the final minutes to take the lead and c) it proved that '01 was not a fluke.

2006; #1 Ohio State beat #2 scUM 42-39

The absolute best game that I have ever seen, and after the game nobody wanted to leave.

I was at the "shithouse" in 1975 for that game and it was exciting; however 2006 was the best.
