More driving pet-peeves...

According to my sources the freeway is 6 lanes there, with an additional lane for the short entrance-exit crossover. Is that where you're talking about, or do I need to fire some people?

They're fired
Go and try it, but I hope your ride goes 0 to 60 in about 3.5 seconds if you don't plan on concerning yourself with the interstate traffic. 2 lanes only and there comes a 3rd exit ramp 1/4 mile for the Maple Ave. exit. Good Luck.

Thanks for backing me up here. No one fucking believes me.

Jeesh, tough crowd.

I'll give you an example, the on ramp to I-70 in Zanesville only has about a 40 ft. area to merge and with the big semis driving in the right hand lane, sometimes you have to stop.

There's another entrance ramp just beyond the merge point of this on-ramp that causes the distance to be so short.<!-- / message -->

And the next exit is Maple ave. the busiest street in Zanestucky. I'm 100% agreeable.
ok It looks to me like you get a dedicated lane to merge into, but you guys know the area better. I still say you can't drive, but oh well.

The freeway briefly expands to six lanes with the addition of auxiliary lanes between the respective ramps of the two interchanges.
And with that, I'm done beating this horse. I know you guys want to continue this discussion, but it's over. I have better things to do (well, not really. That's why I've been beating it for so long )

Findlay,

Sorry to break it to you but that's the wrong entrance ramp, you want the previous one.

That third lane you are showing is from the entrance ramp by the Pepsi plant that just continues right onto Maple Ave.

I was afraid of that, but with your damn Pepsi plant/Bob Evans directions, how do you expect me to get anything done around here? Sheesh.
At any rate, you still can't drive .

I will be heading to class in about an 2 hours and I will let you know about the length just to make sure...But I stand by my observation....Christ people I have lived here most of my life...I get on that ramp every fucking day....You don't think I know any better than someone from Findlay or Columbus...Damn...Some people just don't like to admit that they are wrong and are total HOMOS.................

Addition from this morning:
  • People who just plain stop in the middle of a busy road for no apparent reason - perhaps confusion or a sudden need to contemplate their role in the universe
I have an addition from this morning, too. Mine's not a pet peeve so much as something to amuse me:
People who wait 7 minutes at a railroad crossing for a fairly fast moving train, and then decide to turn around and head for the underpass. While they are turning around I can see the end of the train. Before they get to the end of the road, they see in their rearview mirror the train has gone by. They turn around again, and are now behind the 7 cars they were in front of a minute ago. Before they make it across the tracks (but the other 7 cars do) a train comes from the other direction on the other set of tracks and they have to do it all again .

I was actually trying to understand if this was a design flaw in the freeway, or if you guys just can't drive. Given that you're from Zanesville, the latter was a definite possibility .
Also, if you've lived there most of your life, and the ramp is so dangerous, why do you get on it every day? There's a ramp less than a mile away, isn't there?

Has anybody mentioned the geniuses that actually back up exit ramps, after they realize they don't want the exit they already committed to?

Committed is what they should be. Only folks with a serious death-wish back up exit ramps.

Because I am one of the few that know how to drive..And it's a hell of a lot faster route to school....I'm not disagreeing with you but it is a design flaw on ODOT's account....That's what we are trying to tell you all but you just don't believe.....Because I have driven it so much, I know what to expect and am used to it....It's the people passing thru who don't know how to get over or the old people who try to merge at 25mph who get people killed....

Last time I was in Columbus there was somebody backing up in the right lane on 270 after they missed their exit. I've seen people on the shoulder do it before, and that's dumb enough, but this guy was still in the travel lane.
