More Discussion on Marijuana (Merged with Skeete thread discussion)

Well I was right I got hammered.

Strohs, it isn't. I just hope he is the only one that gets caught.

He knew what he was doing was against the rules and he will suffer the consequences.

Just stupid on all sides. Dumb.

Deciding to take a drink or hit is incredibly different than dealing. Profiting and leading others to stumble, perhaps his teammates at times (who knows) or at least some of his friends, is a much more agregious (sp?) sin.

Sorry to see you go Skeete, but you're gone barring quite a turnaround.

Selling some weed is closer to speeding or lying than it is to any offense deserving of the death penalty... Let's please tone down the moral indignance on this issue: yes, the kid broke the law and should be off the team, but in the grand scheme of life a this is just not that big a deal.

Are you actually compairing selling a half pound (what he got caught doing... probably a lot more) of illegal drugs to speeding or telling a lie?
No read the post. I am saying that someone that says that the kid is lucky that he is not executed for the offense needs to has his head examined.
I assume that you would agree.
But then... you are the person that has the avatar with two puppets sodomising each other. :)

"Sorry but I disagree 100%.
Selling drugs is a big, big deal in the scheme of life.
Try to get a good job with that on your record..."<!-- / message -->

Strohs, I'm talking even grander than the American legal system, which nobody could argue is without its faults. I'm talking about a human being involved in the sale of a very minor drug (possession of marijuana is a minor misdemeanor in Ohio), which is not an offense that I believe will condemn his soul to Hell. As for his record, that's where a good lawyer comes into play...

I read your post... now read his. All he said was that in Singapore they are a little more severe in their ways of punishing criminals. Therefore he is lucky he lives in a country where most people say, "Guys we are talking about pot here and not real drugs right?" It is a proven fact that pot is, a lot of times, the first step on the road to "real drugs." I know a lot of people who have or do smoke weed. I also have known people that abuse speed and depressants. (I work with them every day.) Funny they all say the same thing. "It's not like I am doing coke or something that is really bad for you." Please explain the "big difference."

Whatever makes you feel better about yourself, I guess. :roll2:

As for Kermit. He is not into anal sex. The white stuffed animal is obviously female and they are having vaginal sex. geez

That is absolutely not a proven fact, even with the qualifying "a lot of times". The anti-drug propagandists who push this 'gateway' or 'slippery-slope' theory universally ignore the fact that something obviously started users down the road to marijuana. Often that is alcohol (the true gateway drug) or tobacco, but it could be anything: I for one was introduced to such psychedelics through the gateway of music and literature.

Don't give me that shit. I work with people that addicted to any drug you can name. By working with them I mean I help them try to get over their addiction. I would say 99 times out of 100, when you ask these people what was the first drug you tried, it is marijauna. They weren't alcoholics. True, not many come in and say they are addicted to weed, unless the court forces them to. But the guys that use "real drugs" almost all started on marijuana. I am no anti-drug propagandist. If you want to fuck up your life, go for it. Keeps me busy.

Oh, and death penalty for dealing....Lets get serious. Yes, he should be thankful he doesn't live in Singapore but then so should "probably" the rest of us.
No need to worry if you aren't a criminal.

First I wasn't aware that we were talking about me. I do not do drugs, and do not approve of them for myself or family. So this doesn't mean anything to me as far as my day to day life. Please do not twist my words to insinuate that I am justifying a lifestyle.

The only thing that is pr oven is that mothers milk leads to everything. So I guess mom is the true gateway because mom is the only thing that all drug addicts have in common. Must be 'ol mom. Gateway drug is horse shit. I expect more thought than that from a defender of public animal sex.

There is a huge difference between pot and coke. If you cannot see it I am not going to waste my time trying.

This kid is screwed and deserves to be, but don't sit here and tell me that a person that gets stoned on occasion is any more of a criminal than a social drinker.

Wether or not possesion is a misdemeanor I dont know, but from the NBC4 website, he is being charged with a Felony..

"Franklin County Municipal Court Judge Julia L. Dorrian set a $10,000 appearance bond on the fifth-degree felony charge of marijuana trafficking."

I would say that is pretty serious.
I have no respect, none whatsoever for drug dealers, no matter how "minor" the drug involved is.

As a baby that was born with asthma and an allergy to milk, I guess I was destined to never do drugs.

About 5 years.. yup.. that's what the judge will say.
