More Americans becoming accepting of fat people?

It's about lifestyle change too. We all love Champps but one of their portions can feed three people. Enough already.

Interesting the rise in obesity when cigarette smoking is becoming less PC (except in college of course). One has to think the kick the habit thing also attributes to obesity.

i think you kinda missed the point. see, obesity is solely the problem of the person affected. meaning they can't blame mcdonalds (though they have tried), the government, big nasty corporations, god, hmo's, or the hole in the ozone layer. see, its not "in style" to take responsibility for your own actions. so that means obesity isn't an issue because well... there is noone to blame it on...

smoking on the other hand... that can easily be blammed 100% on some nameless faceless corporation. which is very much "in style" currently.

so seeing as how you can't be a victim of your own actions, obesity obviously can't be a problem. therefor society as a whole must become accepting or they are not being pc. which is unofficially illegal in all 50 states punishable at the whims of your nearest friendly neighborhood lynch mob.

People can allow themselves to be overweight all they want (its their choice to make their lifestyle), but generally a huge problem in today's society is to accept it as a whole. A lot of people act like they have an unfair disadvantage (and some people are legitimately screwed over by their genetics), but those who are too lazy to work out or eat healthy should not start complaining about being big. It all comes with the territory.

When I lived in the US a few years ago, I was surprised how much more sedentary people had become. Tibor is right, less in and more out and the problem disappears. When I complained about needing to run a bit more because I picked up five pounds over the holidays, a European friend said, "There's a solution for that, eat less. The best exercise you can do is to do is "push backs", away from the dinner table that is." Although I responded that I suppose he didn't get la...never mind.
