Monday Night Football (Official Thread)

I watched the majority of the second quarter, and like most of you, I thought Theismann and Kornheiser were pretty bad. Tirico, eh, I can take or leave him.

I'm finding it harder and harder to listen to football (or any other sports) commentators anymore. The good ones always seem to be paired with a loudmouth who only loves to hear himself talk.

It seems to me that ESPiN, Fox and the others are really trying to make every game a multimedia entertainment event anymore - like we're too attention deficit to pay attention between plays, so they feel the need to throw an add at us after every play. Just stop with all the little graphics, in-game sideline reports, dancing robots, tricky sound effects and fancy camera angles and just show the damn game. I honestly don't give 2 shits about what Warren Sapp has to say, so please, don't interview him while the game is going on in the background. I don't care where the announcing team had dinner the night before, or who they ran into in the hotel lobby. I also don't care what ABC is showing at 8:00 on Wednesday night; if I did, beleive me, I would find out on my own. In fact, the more a network hypes its own shit, the less likely I am to watch it.

What was up with the huge boombox scoreboard in the middle-bottom of the screen? It maded it hard to follow the closest WR at times.

Agreed. That thing sucks. Why can't they put those on-screen overlay things on while the ball is dead, but just before the ball is snapped, remove them, so you can watch the game with your full screen?

really!

Alot of viewers should be complaing about the quaility the viewers are recieving. The football game is going to be football, but the announcers are terrible and all this other added sh!t makes me want to change the channel.

Smoot: You know. What happened happened. I just want people to know the troof.
Suzie: So what is the truth?
Smoot: You know. The troof is the troof..
Suzie: Riiiiiiiiiight.:bonk:
