2026 MO OL Jackson Cantwell (Miami Verbal)

This recruitment is hilarious. It’s like the kid of a divorced couple and both parents keep trying to outspend each other. Can’t wait for UGA to go to $2.5 or 3mil

I hope he goes to Miami so it’s more hilarious when their spending results in 8 wins
Kind of like how it worked out with Francis Mauigoa and Samson Okunla

And refuses to play in their meaningless Bowl game at the end of the year.
It'd be hilarious to see him sit out the Buccee's Vagisil Bowl

And maybe picking him up for pennies on the dollar when he hits the portal in year two......

"We'll pay the settlement for your NIL lawsuit with Miami's collective and give you a chance to see the playoffs.

Hurry up and decide, I've got a guy on line two about a set of whitewalls"

Cannot fathom how a youngster feels when offered multiple millions while in HS. Pretty good I'd imagine. However, took two jobs in my career, based on big salary, and were the worst jobs ever had. But what with the transfer portal, and a year or two of experience, (and some bucks in the bank), seems like the youngsters are making better decisions. See more NFL draft-enhancing choices, rather than fewer. And absolutely zero facts to back that up, merely perceptions.

There are no perfect decisions and some kids will do stupid stuff, be entitled, have bad handlers etc but if you boil it down to it's most essential element, the kids need to be taking the money. As much as they can get, when they can get it.

99+% they are done be able to make money with this unique skill/talent they have by age 30. AT BEST. Most will be done with it in their early 20's. The majority will also have medical conditions that will follow them the rest of their lives from the physical nature of the game they play.

They shouldn't be vilified for trying to max out their earning power while they have it.

Yep. And if they don't reach their potential at that price, I'm sure the institutions will not hesitate to cut them, take money away, etc.

However, I would be concerned if a guy was solely basing his decision on $$$. He has to be comfortable with the coaches, atmosphere, culture, etc, etc. Going somewhere and being miserable and losing for $2 mil is not better than going somewhere you will be happy and a winner for $1.9 million. Cantwell appears to be one of the former.
