2026 MO OL Jackson Cantwell (Verbal Offer)

Not the first time have read that the kid "didn't want to play in the cold". Seems like that is the refrain from many southern recruits. Got it, the weather in the south doesn't have snow, and cold means a long-sleeved shirt instead of a tee. But even if they play for a southern university, and a southern based NFL team, they'll eventually have a northern team on their schedule, and could be late November. Also believe there's more 'beach people' than 'mountain people' in the USA. Probably just an excuse.....

Guess my California bias is showing out. Neither, it's a plains state, however, it does have some skiing, as well as beaches along Lake Erie. However, it does have four distinct seasons, unlike southern climes, etc.

And as you get older you definitey love the milder weather, even cold sometimes for me. I was all about the beach and half-nakedness when I was younger too. Ain't got no tme for that now. lol

Unless OSU is ready to pay big, they should just blanket the nation with offers.
They really don't need to do that in '26, OH alone has at least 5 OSU caliber OL. And then Parks who's from WV but now lives in FL is a heavy lean to OSU as well. Get 2-3 more in next year's Portal.

But OSU has 0% shot with Cantwell. This dude is only visiting to see the campus. I don't want to get anyone's hopes up in this one

Yeah lets not waste our time here when Ohio is absolutely stacked with OL in the '26, agreed. This might be the year we finally get the OL class we have wanted to see and we don't need Cantwell for that to happen (unlike in '25 where we invested so much time in Sanders and needed that to happen).

+ Five-Star Plus+ offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell was quite impressive this week especially for being a 2026 prospect. His raw power and effort in the run game allowed him to move defenders off the line of scrimmage. He had some growing pains in pass protection, but constantly improved throughout the week and put together a good performance in the game. – Cody Bellaire
Another reason to not always trust the 5star status of HS OL. Cantwell plays in a run heavy scheme, so whomever gets him better be patient for at least 2yrs. He's going to have issues with speed rushers early on
