34-37 FINAL.

Hard to glean much from this clusterfuck. Neither team played defense or really tried to tackle much on ST's for that matter.

Positives:
- Quinn looked sharp again.
- Steptoe may be a sleeper. He's small, but fast as hell and is just a player.
- Jerome harrison looked solid. Should provide a nice change of pace for Jamal occasionally.
- Dawson showed some leg strength I didn't know he had in him.
- Battling back from an atrocious start to make a good game of it against defending SB Champions.

Negatives:
- Entire 1st quarter.
- DA looked erratic, but how much of that was missing his go-to reciever?
- Secondary, ugh.
- Drops.
- Travis Wilson. He needs to show a lot in the next couple weeks. I'll be surprised if he makes the team.

Again, that was barely a pro football game so I'm not gonna take too much away from it other than we need help in the secondary. A lot of help. A whole helluva lot.

Really, a LOT.

Not looking forward to the general media trying to create a QB battle. DA had at least 2 big drops on 3rd down, and faced the Giants first string defense and had zero time.

It won;t matter...can;t wait to read the first reporter creating a controversey from Grad tomorrow morning...

It was only a matter of time...

I like what Steptoe has done so far. If nothing else, you can put him beside Cribbs on kickoffs to punish teams for kicking away from the Pro Bowler.

I have never been impressed with Travis Wilson. I didn't like it when he was picked, and he has done nothing at all in a Browns uniform.

Jason Wright is garbage. If Lewis goes down, we're in big trouble.

Dude, you aint lyin,I honestly think we should go after a young back like Tony Hunt,or Fred Jackson to turn our running back situation into a strength. Plus our pass rush sucks,I hate how Tucker has the D-Line off of the ball and not getting off on the snap. But Alex Hall will eventually be a monster.

.

I think there are three things that I would add to the negative side and one that I would add to the positive side.

Positive
-- Shaun Rogers was not playing which probably hurt our DL

Negatives
-- our OL was pretty much handled by the Giants defense
-- our DL did not not put much pressure on Manning
-- we still continue to only rush 4 guys the majority of the time

Granted it was only a preseason game and maybe we didn't want to show everything because we do meet them again but we really got our butts handed to us.

We have bigger needs right now than to pursue a backup RB like our Defensive backfield. While Wright will never be the power runner like Lewis, I don't think we will find anyone out there, that is available, that would provide the same quality as Lewis. Wright is not a terrible back but is not a power runner and neither is Harrison. I would like to see Austin Scott gets some reps at RB.
