MLB General Discussion (Official Thread)

Ohtani has allowed three homers in a home game, for the first time in his MLB career, to Ji Man Choi, Henry Davis, and Jack Suwinski. :pirate:

Henry Davis takes Ohtani yard, again! This is the first time Ohtani has allowed four homers in a game, and it's the fucking Pirates who did it.

Davis is the first guy to jack him twice in a game. Not Judge, Henry Davis. Must be windy in Anaheim tonight.

He's on my fantasy team.

Mystery solved.

So we have a cricket league now. Stumbled over Major League Cricket on CBSSN tonight. I know it's good when you hit one out of the yard and outs are bad, but not much else. Looking at the bottom of the screen I'm not even sure who was winning. I'll stick with baseball.

It looks like points are actually scored so it’s a step up from soccer but, other than that, I’ve got nothing.

Another "this shit hasn't happened since the 1880s" baseball stat. So many different things that can happen, you get this only in baseball.

Yes, but our baseball playing ancestors in the reconstruction era were playing in literal cornfields or town squares. That this is the first 8-3-5 triple play since the invention of the “ballpark” or light stanchions is truly spectacularly bad baserunning. I’m honestly surprised a Reds team in the past 25 years didn’t do it first.
