I’ve actually never been, but people tend to shit on it so it seemed like low hanging fruit.

It's a little known fact, but you're very close. See the skunks originate from Detroit, and for their coming-of-age they all go on a pilgrimage to Ann Arbor (is a whore).
It's at this time that they store a concentrated sample of Ann Arbor in their abdomens. It's so powerful, they never need to go back. Just that 1 sample lasts a lifetime. Which in Ohio, is enough time to get ran over on I70.
