Mixed Martial Arts (Official Thread)

I was watching two live updates, LA Times and espin, both had it 3-2 GSP. I'm just saying, perhaps you guys that hate GSP are biased.

Two sites I've looked at and both GSP......
I actually kind of like that french candian bastard, and have no opinion on hendricks. He lost the fight in my IMO and was beat up after the fight and Hendricks didn't have a scratch... it's not like this is the first time there was a terrible decision in the ufc...

I hear ya on bad decisions at times. This does NOT appear to be one of them from everything I'm reading. I'm seeing most saying GSP 3-2. So how can that be a bad decision. When you have MMA experts calling it that score, it can't be that far off. If half call it GSP and half call it JH...sounds like it was close and could have gone either way. That CAN'T be a travesty. I've seen those and this sounds nothing like those fights.

Hendricks didn't dominate by any stretch of the imagination and it seemed like he sort of let up a little bit in round 3 to save energy for later but if you had watched it you would probably agree GSP didnt win

reading also about a possible tap out by JH in the first round that nobody apparently saw except some keen eyed viewers....anyone see that?

significant strikes stat also shows a GSP edge but pretty close

eh?? Things I remember about the first round ( which will be alot more than GSP who admitted he didn't remember most of the fight). GSP took JH down.. JH got right back up.. then they were locked up against the fence... JH did about 5 elbows to the side of the head...

watching the fight, this is where "scoring" is stupid.. GSP got his ass kicked and was bleeding like a stuck pig at the end of the match... he had spurs where he looked like GSP but out of the 25 minutes... I'd say Hendricks set the tone/pace for most of the match. He let up in the 3rd & 5th... but he dominated the 2 & 4... he was in control most of the 1st round as well

Buddy just said Dana White went off... I'm guessing he thought JH won as well...need to find the video

saw this tweet
UFCONFOX ‏@UFCONFOX2m
On #UFC167 Postfight Show: GSP will not retire, he owes it to the fans, The UFC and Johny Hendricks. Immediate rematch. - Dana White

 this tweet best describes the fight

Let me get this straight. The loser attends the press conference and winner is taken to hospital. #ufc167 #danawhite

Yeah I watched Dana on FS1. He was pissed and said nevada athletic commission is horrible and other not so nice things...haha. gotta love dana white.

however, announcers said they didn't see what dana saw and had it 2-2 going to the fifth. apparently jh won his rounds decisvely and gsp won his in close calls. that seems to be the big problem. still scored 10-9 regardless.
i don't know, sounds like it was a good fight so i'll have to see the replay. and the rematch!!!!

This is contrary to what I have seen:

GSP hit Hendrix with light girlie punches and never once did anything that resembled Octagon control. Strikes were close in number, but not results. Take downs were the same except for what was done during the time down on the mat. This is a classic case of damage versus number. Hendrix damaged GSP and GSP threw and kicked with accuracy all the while not once leaving a mark. Which is valued more?
